我仔仔08年9月入讀k1, 我見其實之前都有媽咪開過topic問2間學校邊間好d. 我知St. Cat比較適合active d 的小朋友, 佢地英文比較強而根德園相反, 佢地much more focus on Chinese and Math. am I correct? 其實我自己偏向St. Cat多d, 因我個仔坐唔定.但我聽聞佢地無以前咁好, 另今年佢地P.1的派位result亦唔多好. 所以令我心大心細. 我唔係住kowloon tong, 自己心儀九龍塘官立小學. 所以到時要自己考入去. 唔知St. Cat好定根德好d.

真羡慕。我囝囝下星期就兩歲，他現在大多數講單字，現開始學習詞語。真擔心，唔知點Interview？請問你點啟發佢？可否給的意見。
至於St. Cat ，肯定是好學校，看你囝囝言語情況，早的學英文應無問題。我囝囝是Maid姐takecare，同佢只講英文，所以自少對英文的反應好過中文，只喜歡看英文字母及英文台，一聽到中文台就立即要求轉台，所以我希望加強佢母語先為上。

原來係咁. 其實都好多人問過我呢個問題, 係街度唔識的人都問過. 其實我無特別做咩啟發佢. 講真, 我無刻意push, 不果唔知係唔係遺傳, 因我自己係多咀街

(but我老公唔出聲). 我亞囝都係由工人同婆婆湊, 不果我地住村屋, 而佢的堂兄弟姊妹都係住附近. 細細個而成日係村入的士多打'鄧'. 可能見得人多, 又多人同佢玩. 自自然然好快識. 而我自己因為口多, 所以佢細個我已習慣不停同佢講野, 搭車會形容身邊的事物, 落街玩又講. 有時就算同佢一齊睇電視都會base on 畫面同佢講吓其他野. 我估妳依家可以做的就係多d同佢講, 9唔搭8咩都講餐飽. 不果其實唔使太擔心, 小朋友的成長係好奇妙的, 亦好進步神速, 佢今日只講單字, 聽日可能會突然好好多. 有d野佢已經入左腦, 有時係一觸即發的.:loveliness:

我仔而家讀緊根德, 其實我當初選呢間學校之前都有你的疑慮, 會唔會紀律好嚴, 仔仔讀得好辛苦.......其實唔係外間講的咁嚴, 老師都係教佢地一般的規矩, 好似發問前要先舉手, 玩完玩具要自己執....都係好的。

不過英文就真係無st. cat 咁好啦(只識講簡單英文, 除非你係屋企自己教), 但係中數真係好西離, 一星期教三個中文字, 而且小朋友係記得架, 因為先生用好生動的方法教, 另佢地好有印象。

如果你話中文自己返屋企教係好難架, 教英文容易過教中文呀, 因為中文字好多筆劃, 就算你教到, 進度都無咁快, 我朋友的小朋友讀國際班, 一年教12個中文字咋, 但係英文lok lok聲, 睇你點取捨

Agree. 請問你當初你囝囝interview時問什麼問題？會否跟其他名校一樣只收大B呀？我B是小B，擔心唔收？另，可否告知小一派位比率去那間比較多？

好呀。多謝。my email address: [email protected]。我仲想話你知根德園的另一個好處就係運用Flash card的方法。以我所知，佢地用Flash card串連法去教導小朋友認字，除此，又會從一些練習使他們更認識字，因我看過我朋友的女兒的功課及教學材料，的確與別不同。除此，自小對數學有興趣，頭腦亦靈活的，專注力亦好。我十分希望囝囝有此機會。請問你用什麼方法呀？可否告知。

I am interested to let my son to study in Kentville too. But he is not willing to even say hello to other people, probably due to trouble 2 problem. I am worrying that we will not be able to get into this school.
I heard that Kentville asked the kids to sing a song during the interview last year. Do you know if this is true or not?

My son is a super small boy. He is only arriving 1 year and 9 months old and would reach 2 years and 8 months old in Aug 2008. Not even to talk about singing a song, I'm worrying that he would not reply the teachers' question during interview? When will the interviews usually take place? Very worry....

小兒上年10月到根德園面試，細仔，結果唔收。

我記得面試時有兩位老師，1位會問你問題，1位就問小朋友問題，所以你只會顧住答老師問題而唔知個小朋友答左D咩。

家長問題︰小朋友最喜歡吃什麼? 最喜歡玩什麼? 你小朋友未夠兩歲(面試日計)，那何時開始學講野? 平時在家做什麼? (問題都是圍繞小朋友，看看家長有冇留意小朋友的生活習慣等等)

小朋友問題︰其實家長掛住答，真係唔知佢問咩，不過我見個仔手指指，指住塊matching畫板，砌左幾粒LEGO，豎起左兩隻手指(相信問佢幾多歲)，最後要唱歌(一定要)。

過程中，由於我仔仔唔多喜歡講野，結果我冇咩聽到佢把聲，連唱歌都只係唱到1/3首，好被動，好怕羞。

聽方間講，佢地IN完會送玩具俾小朋友，他要說多謝，IN完要幫手推回小椅子(重點所在)，最後離開前仲有個老師派糖，也要講多謝(最後把關)。

慘痛經歷，報告完畢。

我估年紀大小不是主要問題，因為細仔10個9個都會好遲講野，唔識表達，佢地咪唔收囉。如果個小朋友年尾出世，但係好鬼叻講野，應該冇問題。我仔仔in當日都未夠兩歲，亦係一般遲講野的男孩子。

至於禮物，老師有送，係個小陀螺，一過手就跌左，仲滾左去窗邊，我便叫仔仔執囉。臨走之前都有另1個老師送瑞士糖，兩樣我個仔都有講多謝，不過要我叫佢先講。

關於細仔收唔收，我記得我有兩個朋友的仔仔及女女，兩個都係11月出世，也是in左，同樣唔收，但佢地in時有問有答，仲有唱歌，最後要寫信表示誠意，最後最後都收左，讀左1年，女女幾好，仔仔就紀律差點，家長想佢再讀1年。

我仔仔嗰時兩間都有考, 兩間都收佢, 但我最終選咗根德園, 第一我地去in時, 比我感覺根德園老師比較親切, 有禮貌, 而st. cat好似唔在乎咁, 無咩表情咁. 第二我問過幾位做老師的答案都話根德園係嚴D深D, 但真係有料唔同D, 佢地有自己一套教學方式. 第三我有朋友個仔仔都喺根德讀開, 佢都話好好, 只講教用筆寫字為例, 一教就大部份學生就識. 另外佢入名小學機會都好大. 就係咁所以選咗根德園

Hi, my boy Marcus was also born in mid Oct 05, can only speak a few words...

my two nephews(1 born in Mar03 and the other June04) were studying in SC, they also interviewed KV and York and were accepted by both...my brother-in-law(the kids' daddy) reminded me that SC and KV would start providing interview forms at Oct...

both boys are quite natural to say English words and their parents are quite keen to teach them English vocab...but BIL says SC does not teach putonghwa and so he has to arrange putonghwa class for his elder son!

someone says some kindergarten in KLT put marks on the career of the parents...BIL is a DBS graduate and a senior doctor in a public hospital ...but frankly speaking, his two sons are smart boys!

多數都係名校多, 我見有la salle, 拔卒等等...同埋就算派唔到位, 去walk in考都易入好多, 見到你喺根德園讀完出黎都覺唔同d, 同埋根德園本身程度高d, 所以好多小學都鐘意.
嗰時我仔仔已經識講好多野, 我唯一係無教佢唱歌, 但因為佢有返 nursery, 之前咁啱學校要佢地個人表演, 佢就唱咗青蛙媽媽. 當時我仲記得in時,老師叫佢唱abc, 但佢話想唱青蛙媽媽, 仲一路唱一路搖頭, 好有節奏咁, 時後我都好開心, 因我之前無同佢講要唱歌, 只係叫佢記得老師問問題你就答就得喇, 點知佢出符意料之外.

It's really depends on the performance of the child on the interview date. If they reply to the teachers, the chance is really high. My girl is born on Nov 04 and really have a bad experience on KV's interview as they prefer 'big' child

咁案路過! 睇到呢個topic入嚟答吓你o地問題先! 我囝囝10月中出世, 今年kv讀k1, 佢係好百嚴果類型, 但返學kv o的老師又冇投訴佢, 而佢都話返學好開心, 而家so far學咗15個中文字, 英文A-C同start withA-C嘅生字, 書巳經教咗3本. 其實我個人覺得教得幾快, 我小朋友都吸收到! kv真係有o的計!

1. 根據今年資料, kv收嘅細仔最細係11月出世
2. 冇資料顯示kv會因應所住區域選擇性收生
3. 收唔收其實取決於小朋友interview當天表現, 基本上
- 肯開口講嘢, 會回答問題, 不需全部答對 (我囝囝果陣唔識答一題)
- 肯唱歌, 唔駛唱哂, 媽咪陪唱都得 (我囝囝果陣唱abc, 我陪唱)
- 唔怕醜, 會攞玩具玩, 玩完又會tidy up (我囝囝果陣要我提佢tidy up)
- 最緊要唔好cry
- in 完攞咗送嘅玩具講thank you (我囝囝果陣要我提佢先講)
- 出咗班房攞埋粒candy講thank you (我囝囝果陣冇講)

多數都係名校多, 我見有la salle, 拔卒等等...同埋就算派唔到位, 去walk in考都易入好多, 見到你喺根德園讀完出黎都覺唔同d, 同埋根德園本身程度高d, 所以好多小學都鐘意.

That kinder is also very good. Your sweetheart must be very smart. He got all the offers from those 3 kinders.

by the way, how's his performance during the interview? Did he say a lot during the interview? My son can speak a lot actually..but he's quite shy to say to strangers...really worry about that...

Before the interview, I asked my friends how did the interview proceed and their questions in 2005, and then ask my friend to practice every steps with my baby and myself several times. Please be reminded that parents had to practice too. I also keep the St. Cat and 根德園 interview process and their questions in 2006, I can sent it to you if you're interested in it.
