Dear those waiting parents,

Don't give up!

Next Monday, P.1 parents will back to school to collect assessment reports for their kids. You may take this time to meet principal and ask the result of waiting list.

Try every means if you really want yr kids to be students of SMC. 大家努力、加油

So, have you registered your son to other school yet? I have to pay for another DSS today - SMC still unable to give me a definite answer - very painful!

Now I am seriously thinking should I still wait for SMC's seat as I have paid another school already!

聽說今年暫時未有考到而又放棄學位, 所以未有位置可以放出嚟比waiting list. 相信要等到8月中/底左右, 等大部份扣門程序完成, 咁應該會有d人考到更top既學校, 會有d位放番出嚟.

Actually, SMC is my true dream school. So, besides YW, I didn't apply any more DSS or private school. YW has rejected me. So, I have to go for the government school. I don't have any other DSS / private school back up. Hope SMC will give me a phone call la. Which other DSS school accept you ?

Dear G-ma,
Thanks for your information - but waiting is so painful! I have done almost everything to "knock door" but still not succeed. I don't really know if I should continue to wait or what. My girl always think that she will study in SMC and keeps telling her classmates and teacher she is going to study there. I think I need to give her some time to adjust and give her a very good reason why not studying at SMC if SMC finally rejected her.

其實我相信學校仍有部份位給候補生,
只是未開始安排,因我上個月頭(政府放
榜前) 已放翻個位出來,亦有部份人手頭
上也有SMC學位,但他們是已選了他校,
可能他們已放翻或將會放翻個位出來.

由始至終MY FAMILY 的首選都是1/ SMC 2/ TSL, 3/ 崇小 OR 仁立 , 4/ 基真 (大抽奬), 但是由於SMC要等到8月1日才有消息, 所以再次考次選的TSL, 囡囡在第二輪面試成功考入TSL,

7月6日, 註冊了.

所以放棄了第三選的私校崇小, 已在限期內6月10號交了尾數及校服 $3xxx, (因為津校的仁立抽唔倒, 連叩門面試的機會都沒有.), 假如考唔倒TSL, 我們一定會100% 誠意和努力,渴望SMC能被取錄.

不過,現在我都仍然心思思想入SMC, 但我先生已沒有那麼的積極了, 如果真係收,會煩,唔識抉擇, (如果SMC早些有好消息, 被取錄, we will not apply 2nd phase TSL)

所以我們再沒有寫信了 (last letter 6月尾), ANYWAY,有消息再算, 除非是即收才會決定, 假如還要再面試, 可能會考慮, 萬一失敗,担心小朋友,以免影响她, 寧願讓她開心讀TSL (she likes TSL too, but perfer SMC)

我跟你一樣, 但我在第一批已被TSL收了, 陳守仁入學過程很流水作業, 全電腦化, 很快便知收了, 之後比deposit, 沒有得去大抽獎. 而SMC只寫了一封很短的收謝信便算, 叫佢有位便通知我. 我老公同囡囡鐘意SMC, 我的TSL朋友就叫去TSL. TSL 6月尾已比了9月學費, 開了家長會.

但我多謝這裡SMC家長, 過去一年有關我對SMC既問題, 有問有答, 十分helpful, thks again!

恭喜你地小朋友入左tsl, tsl咁難考都考到, 證明你地小朋友係好有實力.

smc位比較少競爭係大d, tsl 收生應該差不多比smc收多一倍. 不過遊戲尚未結束, 可能8月份你地會收到好消息呢, 到時再慢慢諗都唔遲, 起碼宜家有一間不錯既學校係手, 個心都會定d.

That's true, very hard to chose! I have the same problem with most of the moms - our first choice is SMC and 2nd choice Pui Kiu. My girl like SMC more but as we did not recieve any call from SMC, so we paid for Pui Kiu already (a few thousand!)

It makes it hard for my girl as we have to prepare her for the new school and thus really need to make up our mind. She feels embrassing for can't tell her classmate which school she will study. So, what should we do? cont. to wait? I dont' mind to wait, but it hurts! Not for me, but for my girl!

其實Pui Kiu 係好好難考的, 你的小朋友真係叻先至考, 恭禧你先, 無耐每個家長要求唔同, 讀緊陳守仁p1既家長, 之前考Pui Kiu, 有一條問題問小朋友: 有條河要渡, 問d小朋友有mud方法, 佢答得好好, 連老師都說好, 點知又係考唔到.

雖然SMC既位少過TSL, 但TSL第1rd 只收百多d人, 預番30個位放係第2nd放"磅"後既 knock door seat, 但考既人相當多(不過這數字有保留) TSL 考試既過程好留水作業, 好想去讀 or 想去碰運氣家長變相很多. 我覺得每間學校既老師,會選適合既小朋友, 都唔係叻5叻既問題.

我個女可能太多野講, 做亞媽有時候想用膠紙封著佢個口.
讀得書叻既小朋友係沈實同收歛.

佢考完SMC出來同我講, 有小朋友答一支叉, 佢說不是一支"叉", 係一支分開兩節既"叉", 係"難"左啦! 唔用得, 會弄傷手指..... 佢太"支渣", SMC 唔收佢係 arm o既!

Even I'm a SMC parent, I think both Puikiu and TSL are very good school too. Why you think it's hard to tell people to get a seat in Puikiu? You know it's not easy to be admitted by this school and it's a honor to you and yr daughter. Share some experiences with you and hope can release some of your doubt, I like Puikiu more than SMC before but I only got a seat in SMC as a lazy person of course wouldn't knock door (as I like SM too), vice versa with you :)

However, after studied for 1 yr in SMC I like this school very much since all classmates are really great and my daughter has healthy influence from them. What my point is if your daughter finally goes to Puikiu, don't feel bad since I beleive you will love it after study for a while since TSL, SMC and Puikiu are share the same bilingual education concept. All classmates must be very smart and I'm sure your daughter will enjoy the school life and growth in gd progress with them. Good Luck :)

Hi Pink-1,

Many thanks for your sharing ! Agree that Puikiu, TSL and SMC are good schools. So, after getting an offer from TSL in early July, we has released a lot because TSL is our 2nd dream choice. We now like TSL more than before.

The reason that why I put SMC in 1st choice, I think it may because in BK all SMC parents give a lot of good comments ( happy learning, Excellent English skills, enjoyable ) . Its very attactive !

tsl/ pk/smc 都係好學校, pk 有朋友兩小朋友係度, 普通話好到不得了, 而英文就一般(可能朋友要求高).

我一直都喜歡tsl, 無想過smc, 但smc的parent不斷比comment, 所以就移情別戀, 因我想囡囡是考不到tsl.

我等到8月過後,就去做校服, 買書. 我老公就鍾意smc多d, 始終都係外籍老師既問題,傾向smc多d原因.

其實係有好多人放棄了學位, 因好多拿著幾間直資, 最後某些原因唔讀, tsl 都好多人唔讀+, 佢就立即call 番d 家長.

唔需要擔心, 我相信這裡一定有家長最後又被通知後補.

Mabelzero返而想吓, 到smc通知你, 你會否唔讀陳守仁, 我同你case係一樣.

I was busy moving recently and have not visit BK for some time. I am so happy to see most of the parent had made up their final decision.

It is really really a very hard and painful decision!

Yes, of course, Pui Kiu is a good school too, and that's why I apply that for my girl. However, as I have put so much effort into SMC - writting letters, phone calls, knock door in person.....I have done so many things!

So I feel so disappointed and upset for not getting in SMC! May be I need to tune my own mind too! My girl feels sorry for can't get into mami's dream school and I hope I hadn't destroy her self confident!
Hope all mom, all kids would enter the school that most suit them - whether it is SMC or not!!
Good future for all of you!!!!

Don't be disappointed. You should think from the other angle - you have at least Pui Kiu on hand much better than those who even do not have any on hand.

Happy to hear your girl likes SMC. Hope we can finally get a seat. I believe there would be some releases in Aug. Some parents who have >1 on hand may give up eventually as they think SMC is not good enough given the lack of performance track record and the close association to the girl's college on the Hong Kong Island side.

Don't give up but don't add pressure.

其實係有些家長會放棄SMC唔讀, 不過有幾多位就唔知, 識得個媽咪個仔考st paul,英華, 都唔收, 第三間SMC收左, TSL 係second in 唔得, 但最近佢說佢唔讀SMC啦! 佢仲話比SMC個位我個女, 我話唔冼啦!我正選入TSL. 如果我唔讀TSL, 我又比個位佢個仔.不過TSL應該不是佢既first choice.

另外, 一位媽咪我不太熟, 某種原因都唔讀SMC, 去了好傳統既小學, 所以SMC一定有位release出來.

我o地果日交完deposit比TSL, 隔日即有家長收到TSL既電話, 叫家長後補入TSL.

我老公同我一樣, 暫時咩都唔會去O林, 返正我地全全安安, 過左大半年, 亞女有書讀,而且我同朋友講開亞女考了TSL, 所以唔冼抽, 朋友個個都話這間好難考, 入到都係叻仔叻女, 而再同佢地講, 我地仲睇埋SMC, d 朋友個個都唔識SMC, 好多識既, 都係記著以前果band5既女校, 但我老公仍然十分鍾意SMC.

過多幾日, 就去做校服,買書, 到時再contact 比你.

actually, it's 4-Aug already and still did not recieve any news, I guess the chance is very low.
Anyway, it is very happy to see most of the kids get into their other choice like TSL - it is very hard to get accepted! I try once but since I like SMC more, so I did not go for 2nd interveiw.
OK, it is really nice to "talk" to most of you for the last few months, I feel we are all fighting together!

不要太灰心, 去年認識一位家長, 她都是around 8月10號收到學校call.

Yes, dear all waiting list mommy,
I think the chance is really small la. SMC said up to this moment, all the passed applicants have accepted the place already and seems really no spare place. Although someone will release out the seat, but seems just a few only la. So the chance is really low.... so sad too...
