標題: PIPS ( KLN ) or Victoria ( Harbour Green ) playgroup ? [打印本頁]

上年11月入form to Victoria ( HG ) playgroup , 到今年7月都話冇位, so 就去左PIPS ( KLN ) 報名 ( 唔洗排隊 ), 但到左8月尾, Victoria 話有位, 於是而家 2,4 - PIPS, 1,3,5 Victoria, 都幾busy...

PIPS 既英文老師好好, 好有愛心 ( have outdoor playground, but 12 kids in a class, so crowded ) ... but Victoria 就好 heart sell... ( 6-8 kids in a class, indoor playground, much bigger than PIPS, 英文老師 "MAMA"地, 冇咩熱心, 中交老師好好 ....

actually 呢兩間都好新, 暫冇小一派位結果 !!!

有冇媽媽既小朋友係呢兩間上 playgroup ?

If you want bb studies in Vic PN class, attending playgroup till the interview end is better as bb can get used to the place. Content is not very special and Eng part is just so so.

Hi

I am in the same situation as you. My girl is now 20 months old.... started studying at PIPS (KLN) since 1 year old... (Jan 2009) and Victoria since (March 2009).
She is still attending PIPS (3 times a week) and Victoria (HMT) every Sat only. I continue with PIPS in this new term because I think my girl is learning a lot from PIPS (discipline) I like it how they have the kids move from one classroom to the other (library/ music room) and I like their playgroup. The teacher there is pretty good. She now has Mandarin class 2 times a week. In terms of Victoria, I dislike the English teacher.... no enthusiasm at all. The content is not structured well... but the cantonese teacher is good. I am staying there until my daughter gets kick out at 24 months... but I will apply for the N1 program. But I don't think I will apply for the N1 at PIPs. Since I noticed their classes are quite small.

PIPS - English teacher is good.... nice & enthusiasm !
Victoria - English teacher is not good la, no enthusiasm... Chinese teacher is good and she knows every kids' personality ...

Me too! My boy is now in Victoria playgroup (Tues & Thursday) and planning to atend PIPS playgroup for (MWF). Why won't you consider PIPS for N1?

Any plans for N1? My choices are Victoria, Learning Habitat & PIPS

May I know you mean the class size in PIPS is small or the classroom size is small? why the small class make you don't want to apply N1 in PIPS?

hello.
I am attending PIPS MWF (pm class), we have a small class only 5 kids. Before the summer break, my daughter was in a class with 12 kids... lots of fun. I prefer more kids because there are more interaction amongst the children...

I will apply for victoria nursery, HKPS (Kowloon tong and ascot), learning habitat, cannan.

I am not sure of the kindergarten/prmiary school placement for PIPS... but I know a lot of the kids will eventually go to International school.

5) 有冇話要上幾多個月先可以叻cert?
6) 係邊道學普通話班?

我覺得PIPS教得好好, 只不過我要搭多一個mtr station !!!

I am planning to do a school tour later in the month, will let you know my thoughts after the visit.

My friend told me that the teachers at PIPS have more heart, but the syllabus is not very comprehensive, so when kids go to atten kindergarten interviews, I am worried that they may not be competitive enough.

My daugther is attending PN at Learning Habitat now. She had attended playgroup in PIPS & YMCA before. PIPS's playgroup is good. The teachers are nice and the class is well organized. My daughter learned how to clean up toys, line up, discribe the weather, sing several English songs... after attending the playgroup for ~1/2 a year.
Why she did not stay there for PN is because most of their graduate will go to international schools and that's not our aim. But if this is your aim PIPS is good. Even her playgroup classmates were very "international" Germany, French, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese....

LH --- you can apply at anytime now. Must pick up a form from the school office. Their interviews will be in March 2010 for 2010/2011 PN class.

They have open house in October 2009.

我個仔今年四月份入左VICTORIA讀,讀左四個月就冇讀.因為仔仔唔喜歡.冇錯佢地只有8個小朋友一班而且班房亦比PIPS大.但因為佢地大有規則所以根本小朋友學唔到啲咩.英文老師全都是中國人教的一啲都唔好好死板所以我個仔都感覺到.後來番去樓下PIPS讀是外籍老師佢地講的唱的都好自然好有愛心雖然是迫左啲但我仔仔聽足老師講.所以我都好開心我冇諗過两間學校有咁大對比.一間佢可以完全唔坐定定唔聽.只會扭計及訓覺.一間會聽足全堂及坐定定.所以師資是好重要小朋友是知道的.

我今日終於都quit左victoria,有咩理由話1 month notice, 但前日佢地就有個信封俾我地要15號前交cheque ( 交下個月既學費 ), 我緊係彩佢都傻, 我個女係讀到9月30日 ! 即係前後上一個月 ! 仲有英文老師成日都提早兩個字下課, 真係不知所謂, 又悶又亂 !!!佢一d愛心都冇, 求其教就算 ! 我唔會幫個女報pre-nursery & k1 !!!

而PIPS個MISS真係好正, 好有schedule, 返1 & half hour, warm up, play toys, 點名, weather time, singing songs, outdoor playground, tea-time, art & craft time, stroy time, 好充實 !! 我個女都好like @@

佢到左 18 months, 我會幫佢轉 2 hours playgroup, 係加多左 half hour 既國語, 都係呢個MISS教 @@

Some update for you.

my son has attended 1.5 hr X 2 days PIPS play-group, and starting from Sept 09, we move to 2 hr X 3 days. We meet Ms Cherie again ... she is really nice and class is well organized. After we join 2 hr class, we have 15 min Mandarin Class (2 days/week) and 15 min Music Class (1 day/ week). We have another teacher comes from PRC for Mandarin Class and another local music teacher.

My daugther is currently in Ms. C 's pm 2 hour class. 3times per week... we atttended her class since Jan 2009.... However, the only thing I don't like right now is that our class is relatively small. We only have 5 kids (including my baby ) in the 3 days pm class. I wish we have more.....

Anyhow, I love it and that's why I don't mind to travel from Tsuen Wan to PIPs (Kln) 3 times a week.

Are you all planning to send your kids to PN class at PIPs??? when is the application for 2010-2011???

i have applied for their PN class already, you may download the form or get it from the campus. They are first-come-first-serve basis.

anlywan, Miss Preeti 在pips教開 pre-nursery, 佢好有經驗, pips話佢以前係耀中教過... 只不過 miss preeti想冇咩pressure下教playgroup.

yes, miss c's 笑容好sweet, 我個女都好like佢, actually我都好like佢, 真希望9月快d完, victoria仲有5堂就上完, 快d上完就專心返pips !!!

centreaven, re pre-nursery 2010-2011, u can visit PIPS's website to download the form or get the form from school. I submitted the information last week.

你囡係V記返邊班? 我囡依家係V記返2、4 十點半班，教英文嘅係Elsie，之前我返Sat班由我帶佢返時d英文老師都係麻麻，而家返平日我帶唔到佢返但都知道應該係差不多，只不過Ms Ng果part教得好啫。
我想比更加好嘅野個囡所以先諗住轉讀PIPS，你囡幾時先轉2個鐘班? 會返上/下午班? (我會讀上午班)

for 國語class , we have songs and story telling.

明唔明老師講mug ... of course, no. Same as Eng play-group, teacher's body language is important.

He can say 謝謝 in 國語 these days.

my son attended PIPs for almost 1 year, started out on Sat playgroup, then 2 times a week. Previously Ms. Preeti, I found that she has a lot of experience, quite good. but apparently she teaches Pre-nursery, I didn't know she has gone back to teach playgroup. When he started doing weekdays, we also had Ms. Cheerie. When she first started, it was only so-so, later on, she started teaching with a theme, much better. My son is now attending Victoria PN, hasn't got into the real theme yet, but my son responds very well when I play the school song on CD. He does learn something! Vic says they are still allowing the kids get used to the school first. I heard a lot of bad things about Victoria playgroup, but the PN seems more structured. Most importantly I think most Victoria's parents want the kids to go onto local kindergarten evetually, but PIPS parents seemed to be more geared towards international. For my younger daughter, I think I will still sent her to PIPS for playgroup, less travelling! but I may consider a different PN, more because it is rather expensive at Victoria for PN education! Especially when kids get sick so frequently, they miss a lot of days with each flu

and I am sure there are many good but less expensive PN!

i have also considered Pips in Kln side before but i always thought that the kid will eventually goes to the internation stream which is not the path that i want my kids to go to. I rather want them to go for the local / conventional school first. I see that the Kindergarten Local Stream at PIPs have started this year but not too sure how's their primary allocation like.

I want my kids to go to kindergarten that has english/mandarin instead of canton/english. Would you know where other kinder in kln side offer such program? Pls adv. tks.

我和另一位MaMa在11月join左PIPS playgroup，上完2堂，覺得好差，free time 多得很，2次circle time都好短，見你們讚PIPS playgroup，想知是否因老師不同，令效果差咁遠，教我們的是Ms S.

1. 在free play warm up session、playground session，你們的老師有否主動同學生玩?
2. 2次circle time用左大約幾多分鐘?
3. 是否每次都有weather time?每次去playground 、轉session時老師會否唱歌?

希望你們不要介意我問這麼多問題，因若我們發現是個別老師影響課堂質素，我們可向學校反映，Thanks!

hi... actually我由9月頭開始返到而家係由miss C教... 到左而家11月份有D大D既小朋友冇再返, 反而黎左好多arm arm 1 year old既小朋友, 我感覺佢既教學速度慢左d, 係要就返細d既小朋友... 我會於12月份開始返1,3,5 ( 2 hours / lesson, 多左PTH & music )

actually時間分佈係甘 :

15mins - warm up time
15 mins - 點名, 天氣, 主題 ( for example 11月係講food, 會講下水果... )
10-15 mins - playground time
10 mins - tea time
art & craft
story time + singing time

rundown類似小朋友真正返學既時間

我和另一位MaMa在11月join左PIPS playgroup，上完2堂，覺得好差，free time 多得很，2次circle time都好短，見你們讚PIPS playgroup，想知是否因老師

不同，令效果差咁遠，教我們的是Ms S.

1. 在free play warm up session、playground session，你們的老師

有否主動同學生玩? ( Ellen : Yes )
2. 2次circle time用左大約幾多分鐘? ( Ellen : pls refer the above i mentioned )
3. 是否每次都有weather time?每次去playground 、轉session時老師

會否唱歌? ( Ellen : yes )

希望你們不要介意我問這麼多問題，因若我們發現是個別老師

我老公代我上PIPS堂，都覺得Ms. S冇乜愛心同耐性，兼好"hea"，其實個老師是否enjoy教小朋友，係好易睇得出ｏ
