I prefer KTS too.  Personally, I don't like there are too many different ethnics there.  Yes, I'm racist.

I am afraid you are only targeting a particular race there.  You are probably the first one who openly claims yourself as a racist here.

Gooddaddy, you are very frank!
I got several friends whose children got accepted by TSL but they finally rejected the offer.  The reason is exactly similar to yours.  But their point is not that there are too many different ethnics; instead, they think there is an overwhelming number of students from a particular ethnic group that they don't like.  Some fathers are very concerned if their future son-in-law will be from that ethnic group.

As parents, we should teach our kids to be open minded and in today's society, it's hard for me to imagine that someone, being parents themselves, can claim themselves to be "racist" - this can become a crimal offense under the racial discrimination ordinance. Do you expect your kids can only deal with people of their own race or selected race in their future society? From my personal experience from a kindergarten and primary school similar to TSL, I have always had an opened mind about different races and now my ex-classmates are all over the world, which in a way helped me in developing my international connectiions and benefited me both personally and professionally.

I have less concern about it.  I always think that having a son means having much less worry in that area... you know what i mean

I can't agree with you more, lovingparent.
In my work place there are some south asian people who are holding high-ranking positions and making important decisions for our organization.  I also know from friends that the same is true for big banks like Standard Chartered.
If we keep telling our kids or unintentionly implying to them that we don't "like" them or they may be "inferior", I don't know how the kids will react and handle when their teachers or bosses are south asians.  Actually many popular schools have indian teachers as native english teachers.

lovingparent,
I got your attention, didn't I?  I deliberately used that word to see what responses I would get and I'm glad to see someone saying that we should be more accomodating towards people.  Actually I'm not racist, I've many black and indian friends when I was a student in UK.  I now withdraw my statement.  To be honest, of all the different ethnic people I have met, Chinese, and I hate to say that, is probably the most discriminatory people in the world.  They don't like their own people from mainland, Singapore or Malaysia etc.  Anyway, let's not talk about this subject as it is against the forum rule I belive.

For me, TSL is in the top 3 of my list for my son.

My point is when you have many different ethnic group in a classroom, some kids may shift their attention to things which are related to national cultures.  And they may become more interested in learning the cultures of their classmates that may distract or take away them from their normal learning.  Next day the kids keep asking their dad why their classmates keep wearing that turban.  There is nothing wrong with that, but you will find yourself spending more time on talking about differnet cultures in different countries than teaching your kids to do the homework.  Of course this is only a hyperthetical situation but nevertheless exists.

The reality is that your kid won't keep on asking you about these "cultural questions" after seeing his/her classmates in schools every single day! They simply think this is natural and respect that different people of different origins have different culture ... isn't this what we want them to learn from school???

I really appreciate your in new point regarding different ethnic groups in a classroom and want to ellaborate more here.

Different groups might expose the kids to be familiar with multi-national culturebut meanwhile they would learn, say oral English, in an distracted way. I've been working with different Asian or European region people and no doubt that they have different mother tongues. Of course I'm not specialist in research Language. Personally thinking that it will make the kid difficult to concentrate on  learning, whether following the teachers' or classmate tongue.

That's not good point in discussing like that, even though I have little idea on TSL.

KTS as I knew there is comparatively few different ethnics group from teacher or classmates side. Both of english and chinese performance is good enough to let the students choose their top-tier schools in future.

If parents have a big concern about having their kids studying in a school with a multicultural environment, then I would urge them not to apply for TSL just because everybody does. It's no point when you don't believe in the school and it's unique characteristic. I'm glad that someone comes out to raise a concern when in fact many parents that have not been exposed to such an environment would probably feel the same as well, but they somehow still apply for TSL just because it's famous... that is sad!!
