Frankly speaking, it charges more than HKD5xxx, so what would expect to see?

true.

school fee is not only $5,XXX. Dont forget another $2,000 music instrument class in school plus lunch $1000 and school bus $1500. In total 10,000 a mth. just for the school.

According to my understanding, the musical instrucment class in school is included in the school fee already, no extra charge.

I have a friend's daughter who is curently studying in this school in P2, they live in southern district and she takes her daughter to school herself. She said the students are mainly come from middle class, most of them take the school bus to school, not many have drivers waiting for them outside, unlike DGS & st paul co-ed.

I remember that the parents at the interview look like they are quite well off, so probably many professionals there.

Called the school and spoke to the student there, also looked at school information before, they said $2000 music class is not included. 100% sure.

And 1 musical instrument is complusory for each student from P1. You can take it outside which is cheaper than 2k usually, but scared that the kid will be separated from the majority who will learn instrument in school which may make kid a bit lonely.

everything has two sides, some kids will only envy other kids and give up. Other kids will study harder and work their way up. Your husband belong to the latter type. I believe how the parents teach the kids what attitude to face that situation is most important as tehre are too many temptation in the world.

Do you know if the Chinese teachers are native speakers?

Learning musical instrument in school is optional. Some parents will just let their kids to learn musical instruments outside. (At least one musical instrument and piano is acceptable).

However, SSCPS has different levels of orchestra, choir and band which are free ECA. Children have ample opportunities to practice. Also many ECA on Languages (taught by native speakers) and Maths are free (or just tens dollars per term).

Lunch is $600 per month. You can refer to the weekly menu in the school's website. I think it is much healthier than lunch box.

Some parents in SSCPS are very rich but most of parents are of middle class. Luckily that the school does not encourage materialism. The uniforms and the stationery are ordinary, not expensive. (You can see some schools require very expensive uniforms and special designed school bags.) Not many students take private cars to school. I am very sure that it is much far less than Marynoll!

Per month, you may expect $5500 (tuition fee)+ $1000-$1500 (school bus) + $600 (lunch) (Jack0128 corrected me that it should be $700).  Plus $1000 - 2000 misc. expenses for buffer (say, additional ECA and p.6 boarding).
