完全理解你的想法 / 做法，想當年，自已報這間學校前都是對它不太了解的，只是聽朋友說是一間不錯的學校便報名了。到幸運地收到Acceptance Letter時才去問朋友意見，最後都決定讀。

無錯，這間學校的程度是比較深，但它比得你 Acceptance Letter 就表明你的小朋友有這個能力應付，但無可否認家長都要落些 Efforts ，但不個要怕小朋友辛苦，正所謂 “ No Pain, No Gain” ，小朋友會很快適應的。

現在自已的小朋友都讀得很開心，老師 / 同學關系良好，學業都 OK, 中、英、數都有進步。功課方面，每天約5 -6 樣，小朋友都能在 2 小時內完成，每天還有空閒時間玩至愛的玩具、電腦遊戲等。

我認為，可以的話，應趁小朋友仲聽你「點」時，催谷一，從小打好兩文三語基礎，到上中學時便無咁辛苦。如到中學至走去谷，到時他們都未必聽你「點」，走去跟自已D Friend 玩呢！

以上只是本人少少意見，最後決定還是睇你自已。

學費 Around $2400-2500 / month, 校巴（跨區）約七百幾，飯錢約四百幾 (不過車費 / 飯錢每間學校都要的)。雜費好似無乜喎！自已覺得，學費都幾平民化，唔算太貴，比一些出名直資 / 私校都平。

自已的小朋友在頭兩、三個月比較辛苦，尤其是英文，但三個月後已經完全適應。做好功課及溫習等，每晚都可以在 9 點前睡覺，所以六點起床都夠精神。七點鐘上校巴，約三十分鐘就到學校。

雖然每個小朋友的能力未必一樣，但如果學校比得信你，我都相信你的小朋友都可以做得到的。

Dear dougdora,

This is a kind of 資優教育 for the students who are proved to have the 資優 talent.

Your kid will be asked to take the IQ test (but this is not compulsory) in some recomanded private institutes. You may take it in P1 / P2 or P3 as you like.

If the kids are being tested to be 資優, they will have the chance to join the scheme.

Please be reminded the this is optional and not compulsory. I know that there are lots of students didn't take the test.

There is no "waiting list". If you are interested, please write them letters. As I heard from others, there are 2nd round interview for interested candidates.

my wife likes this school very much, as her friend's son studies P2 there.
but no letter received (NT)

and my preference is TSL / DBS
now only wait result of TSL,
and 2nd int. of DBS.

2nd int to TSL and DBS are already very good.... I think there is a very high chance for TSL at least....

My daughter failed to go into TSL and no letter for SFA ar......

Dear dougdora,

好似記得學校會在開學後個多月派通告通知家長是否參加在指定的測試中心做測試 (非強迫性的)，費用約二千多元，可能是 Group Discount 關系吧，應該比自已各自報名平一點呱！

資優學生可能在不同範疇例如在學科、音樂、體育、說話、表演等有特別出色表現。要明白，如果學校認識 / 了解甚麼是資優就會叫他們做「資優生」，若果唔認識了解就有機會叫他們做「麻煩學生」、「破壞王」……等..。在這裡我比較欣賞的是學校有它一套方法去處理 / 照顧這些學生「特別的」情緒問題，(一般都是IQ高 EQ 低) ，可能是他們見慣吧。

至於資優 Class ，是學校提供一些課後額外課程給予那些被殷別為資優的學生在P2 –P6期間修讀(非強迫性的)，提供機會給他們發揮自已的潛能。

至於學校資優生的比例有多少，恕我真的沒有這方面的資料。

以上少少資料，希望能解答到你。

今早郵差到訪我的屋苑時還是沒有派此取錄信給我家 , 以為沒有希望 ....... 但剛剛去學校睇結果 , 才見到囡囡也榜上有名 ! 真是很高興 , 暫時未收到信的媽媽不要灰心啊 !
但很其怪 , 我計算過貼出來的名單 , 取錄生有約342人 , 應不會有那麼多人入讀吧 !?

My kid also came from 屋的保良局幼稚園 and he was really lucky to get acceptance by SFA in the previous time.

But it is true that some English kindergartens are having advantage to get admission by SFA because my kid always says that his classmates, whose from prestige kindergartens like KV or York, are performing very well in writing and speaking English.

學校的取錄名單上有 Application no. 和學生的英文全名 , 我看到囡囡的名後 , 為怕有同名同姓 , 再取出申請表核對號碼 , 至於是否有 waiting list , 我就沒有留意 , 而約 342人被取錄的資料是我從名單中計出來的 : 86人/行 x 4行 = 344人 , 取後一行好似少了幾個人

many SC stduents got SFA offer too but some of them may prefer other shcool evenutally.

This morning I count the no. of acceptance. It is 338 students. 85 x 3 line + 83 x 1 line = 338 SFA has 4 classes for p.1. Each class will accept no more than 43 students (according to the past record.

Most students in SFA come from St. Cat., KV, and York.

SFA has no waiting list or reject list. If you do not receive the letter of acceptance, that say you are being rejected and there is no waiting list at all. The so-called waiting list is those parents are writing to the school to ask for 2nd interview when times come.

If you like the school very much, you should write to the school to seek a 2nd interview chance. From the past, there alway 2nd interview even after the first lucky draw in Nov results. Or, you should get a 2nd interview once there are not many students have actually paid for the deposit in the first place.

Munsang叫做有中學backup, 除非將來斷龍, 雖然唔係收足哂.

SFA Banding好似好d, 英文又勁, 重要普通話教授. 不過中學又要再煩過.

Well... you need to write to the school updating your kid's performance till they give you a call.  You can send them an updated portfolio later (after the final lucky draw results in June 2010).

It is a very good school with quality teaching and results.  YOu shall not regret putting your child there for 6 years though they have no secondary school.  BUT, you can definitely knock any door with SFA results in primary 6.  And most top band 1 secondary schools love to take on SFA students due to their ensure academic quality and others.

Just keep writing to them and they definitely will give you a call later as not many people like to take SFA if they  have other offer (through-train school to secondary school).  You definitely will stand a chance as most people perceive this school as a very tuff school.  They would rather choose others instead to avoid the pressure from homework and test/exam.

I saw someone handed in an appeal letter or portfolio to the principal on the results release day at the school while I was there to pick up my daughter at the school. I guess a lot people are writing to them already. You need to act quick and must produce a good image of your kids in your letter.

Well... you need to write to the school updating your kid's performance till they give you a call. You can send them an updated portfolio later (after the final lucky draw results in June 2010).
