Yes, we have been to the 2nd interview. I regard it is a mirale! I really hope they would accept my daughter at last. I guess this 2 weeks would be very long for me...

我大仔o個年有個朋友smc收o左, 佢係second in o既時候即時confirm offer, 所以冇收過信. 不過好似舊年開始就2nd in完都仲要等信o勒! 我諗應該都係收普通信. 其實係得smc咁得意reject信寄掛號.

I might not get the register letter at once so I prefer the school send the result to me by normal post.
it would be good if the result is told at once after the interview. However, the school has so many choices so she needn't confirm it that quick now. :( So, what we can do is waiting.

我淨係報O左一間直資/私校咋~~ 因為SMC係唯一一間O岩哂我地幫細佬選校O既條件~~ 如果唔得就會跟哥哥講官津O勒~~
想當年哥哥報小一, 考O左5~6間直資/私校都冇一間收, 有一間入到WAITING, 但寄O左10封信去求位都冇回覆, 到大抽獎又派得好差, 最後好彩叩門成功, 前前後後玩足我成年, 真係好折磨~~~
希望你地唔會好似我咁唔好彩, 可以早早入到心儀學校啦!

People said the school change this policy. I also hope they could confirm everything sooner. However, they have tonz of choices so they needn't do that anymore. :(
What is the register letter at last?? I don't know the postman will come today (friday) as it is a holiday. Do you mean last Friday?

I have heard yap lapp would be better. However, there would be a lot of exams and quizs.
Once my daughter is accepted, I don't think I need to regist. other schools anymore. I can understand how nervous and worried the other parents would feel. So, none of us should not be a school collecter.

多謝晒你地. 我小朋友係9月6日in 的
一定要2nd in, 因為2nd in 至真正test 小朋友o既英文能力.
其實smc 都係我o既其中喜愛o既學校, 因為有四種語言學, 都好適合我小朋友性格. 要有英文環境至令他沒有浪費4年來係kg 學o既一切.
雖然smc 同我家距離遠左d, 但我們都接受, 只不過smc o既school bus , 今日至發現好似無開我住地區o既路線, 依個就有問題.都係我長遠考慮o既因素.
老實說, 我仍然會考之前已apply 的學校, 但有一些學校我會放棄不去.e.g. 陳守仁. 另,也有弟弟跟著, 也要有好多個因素去考慮, 所以我最後會來個總結, 放心的, 我不會罷其他學位咁無公德. 年尾一定來個了結.
去得interview o既小朋友都是醒目的. 你們都要相信你的小朋友. 我就是之前太不信任我小朋友, 引起很多無謂擔心. 去哪一間學校讀, 上天總有安排.
而且, 我覺得為了他的kg 出了一個氣, 有很多家長之前跟我說, 他的kg 不出名, 考學校不太好, 叫他k2退學去kln tong 的kg去. 但以我觀察了解, 他的kg 已經是課程深, 曾跟kln tong讀kg小朋友上興趣班一d 都唔輸蝕. 我覺得不用轉. 所以, 今次來看, 小學揀學生, 跟本就不是揀什麼kg 出來的或是住什麼區, 又或是有什麼關係. 是要先培養小朋友o既自信心和實力.

SMC is quite easy for us to reach so I really consider it as my first choice. :) My husband just feels a bit concern about the academic result of its sec. school.

你o既做法係正確的. 不要以為是錯了. 總比一d家長強迫小朋友去吹谷學習更了解自己小朋友需要.
因為每個小朋友成長都唔同, 興趣班真係有興趣至比個仔參加, 我個仔對游泳好驚, 我都無迫佢學.
我個仔之前講野都唔叻, 重好怕羞, 係我不停比機會佢叫人, 比多d上台o既機會佢, 至令佢建立一定自信. 攞唔攞到獎係其次.
每一個小朋友都有佢o既特質, 咁細個好多時老師家長都未發掘到. 慢慢來, 天總有個安排的. 可能好快就有好消息.

loveboy, 當年我個仔冇一間學校收嘅時候又係有d後悔冇好好"train"個仔,搞到"唔夠人掙"....但讀咗一年小一之後就慶幸個仔入到依家間官津,雖然唔係乜嘢名校,但佢讀得好開心,輕輕鬆鬆,又唔駛交學費,依家細佬報小一又唔駛擔心,都幾好! 所以你唔需要有任何嘅自責,反而你可以為佢keep到一個快樂嘅幼稚園生活喺呢個年代仲難能可貴呀! 加油!

我都知道smc的中學部只屬於band 2, 這也令人有點擔心, 不過有些smc小學部的媽咪說, 自從smc轉左做直資, 收的小朋友也有很高的質素, 而且父母們也是十分緊張子女學業的一群, 所以他們也很有信心, smc在不久將來, 一定可能為band 1 學校.
我也相信smc 中學部的成績一定會有很大進步, 因為你見到現在的中學分開3個banding, 又中文班又英文班, 同學的能力相差太遠, 學校很難顧及所有學生, 反而smc的同學仔, 經過interview, 入得的也不會太差, 一齊讀上去, 一齊努力, banding一定會升.

I also suppose the standard of the SMC would be better and better. The school has the chance to choose the students by themselves so we should have confidence to the school.

My daughter hasn't joined a lot of ECA as well. She just learns drawing. I never want to push her learning too many things if she isn't interested or ready. We should offer a happy childhood to our kids!
As same as you, we take her to many different places to explore the world. So you are doing the right thing!!

Maybe they would go to your area when you study there! Normally the school bus service would be offered depend on the needs only!

That late? The VP told me that the result of the waiting list would be informed in June 2011. Perhaps the waiting list for 1st in and 2nd in might be a bit different.

我知道yw 好似上課時間跟smc 不同, 很難跟上他們的褓姆車.
我也在找褓姆車, 可能在最後幾天才註冊.

to parents whose kids got admitted: can u share how the 2nd is to be like? like how long to ask for kid's part and parents' part respectively? are parents required to answer in english?

實在好緊張呀!(16/09 1st in, 12/10 2nd in)本來以為這幾天收唔到电話無希望，點知原來2/10老婆轉咗电話未有收到留言叫回覆，到今日check返先知到有得2nd in，請問收到2nd in嘅电話之後,有乜嘢係需要同小朋友準備?有無已經完成2nd in嘅爸爸媽媽或者現在讀緊SMC嘅家長可以給我意見嗎?謝謝!

The kid's part would be about 20 min and the parents part would be similar. We didn't answer in English.

we just hv the 2nd IN today with the VP. first of all, VP talked to the child directly, mainly in English, which takes 20 mins. then asked the parents to join and report to us what they've covered, as well as the response of the child. we are surprised that my son's answer is not bad. then sharing views on how to develop his potential etc... the final result will be thru the letter within 2 weeks, either waiting list or accept.
btw, we can see so many children are still having the 1st IN today.
we have a friend, they got the waiting list letter after 1st IN... no 2nd IN is required.
