其實唔知點解以前好多收左唔讀，間學校真係好差嗎？其實中西區雖然有很多好學校，但英小只有二三間，加上佢此終都係英小，同埋佢有通識科，所以我都好鍾意。

中學好唔好我就唔知, 不過中西區出名既小學, 男仔除左俾英皇外, 其次都好多派聖類斯. 所以我都心大心細.

Traditionally this school takes a rather low-profile approach so parents may not know about it as well as other schools with more information and publicity. This may also be the reasons that less parents would talk about it as many of them dunno too much.

我好感謝SLS有這樣的安排. 因囝囝係快樂幼稚園長大, 我好想這一年能有一些學術性的小一準備課程. 估唔到, SLS有這樣的一個課程, 正是我或好多家長想要的.

我認識這校, 都是因為我一個大學同學兼好友. 佢係班裡公認好男生. 他和他的眾中學同學們係多年老死, 一起都是好健康的活動. 唔同我, 我同中學同學唔多聯絡. 這是我對這校學生的印象.

公司內都有2個同事, 3個小朋友友的阿囝讀緊呢間, 佢哋話呢間學校係小班教學, 程度不淺, 放學後有很多課外活動.
我都想知多d 呢間學校的家長意見.

功課一般多, 但經常有測驗,咁算唔算谷?睇家長點諗. 校長就轉咗無耐, 若年半到. 好似因舊校長走時亦有一d 老師都走咗, 所以有一排係交接時比較亂. 依家點就最好去自己問吓 d 家長.

係１５分等緊st. Joe, 所以1st round無望。

St. Joe Kinder cut the number of students when SJPS cut the class from 8-5... now only 80 students for SJ Kinder K3...

應該不是全部都是備取生, 我有朋友仲未收到信.

已打去學校問, 備取生明年5月尾才知結果

It is a very good program which have been running for few years already.

What you have described is somehow a tradition among us (I am also an old boy of SLS), although we graduated from the school for many many years, we always keep a good relationships with fellow old schoolmates.

Can anyone share the present standard of St Louis? I know that SL used to be a very good school in the 80s. I've got 2 friends (now in their late 40s) who graduated from this school. They subsequently went to study abroad and managed to enter very good universities and graduated with 1st class honours. They now have a very promosing career. There is no doubt about the standard of SL in the 80s/90s.

But I have heard that the school has been going downhill in the past 10 years. It's no longer as popular as before, and the no of applicants are also dropping.

Can anyone share?

聖類斯是一所英小,其校內講英文的氣氛濃厚嗎?學生在校內是否也用英文溝通?

通告是中文的,會否不是全英文教授課程呢?

原先打算比小朋友入讀官校/津校,但見聖類斯是英小.希望將來上中學時在英文方面可佔優.因其學生平時慣用英文.

另外,其校風嚴謹嗎?我見學生們的穿著隨意.

我因其有這樣的適應課程,又比家長参加大抽獎. 覺得間學校好"仁愛"咁...

想揾多D資料,決定是否比仔仔入讀.

其實好多收左唔讀, 係因為學校畀學生可以大抽奬, 以以往眾學校經験, 大抽奬後有好多人唔讀, 所以一開始己經按這個比例超收.

Honestly, the past 10 years should be the nightmare of all primary schools in Hong Kong, because of the prolonged period of low birth rates.

So, it changes everything in the environment and also the different policies by the EDB changes the mix of schools, particularly with the addition of Direct Subsidized schools.

Anyway, I believe there are few facts that happened (1) with the low birth rates, actually children have enjoyed higher chances to be admitted to gov't or gov't aided schools thru allocation so they are given more options; (2) the SLS primary section has changed to whole-day a number of  years ago but with the limited classrooms, less seats are available and also make it less attractive; (3) demand to SLS (secondary) may have lowered as C&W district is actually a very special district, besides 2 band 3 schools, all others are band 1 schools.  So with decrease in birth rate, it may pushes some band 2 students into some band 1 schools.

Just my observations thru these years.  Hope it can help for better understanding.

A little information to share.  Although the students entering S1 may not be the best group, however, over these years, the students graduating from the secondary school has achieved the highest improvement rating (compare to other C&W district schools) after their 5 years of study in SLS.

From what I know, shouldn't be using English in all subjects but only science and math are taught in English.

校風嚴謹 or not is in comparative term. I don't think it is too strict and secondary section will be more relax since what we used to proud of in the past is we have no school regulations to follow. Self-discipline is the key.

我聽人講這間學校既小朋友好有禮貌, 程度亦不是太淺, 面試個日有個學生義工家長講轉了副校車後, 副校長想提高學校質素, 所以收生會俾較嚴緊; 今個星期六我都會去學校先留位, 同報讀導向班, 看看仔仔是否適合這間學生.

That's a bit old news which actually affecting all nominated and feeder schools in Hong Kong. EDB announced a three more years delay to 2015 P1 intake and claimed they will spend more time collecting inputs from the schools.

Me too! The school called me and asked me to pay the 留位費 before end of tomorrow....

Finally I got one offer and waiting for the lucky draw for St. Joe..

I like this school though my son finally change another one in Kowloon side as we moved to Kowloon

Really love their principal (few years ago, an old lady, very loving and genuine and kind)

Love the school atmosphere, small, child friendly...
