Having read Stage 11 above, it seems that there is a gap between ORT Stage 9 and this series in terms of reading level. Suggest to read Robins and some Oxford Tree Tops before reading this series.

不如你俾唔同 levels 佢試？

可以去圖書館借幾個 stages（有得 book 書架），

如果係初初開始，不妨由淺少少讀起，讚多 D，唔好打沉佢

好似話英國好多小學用 ORT 做教材，慢慢有需求，所以出多套 Read at Home 俾家長係屋企讀。可以話 Read at Home 係 ORT 嘅補充。

實際上，兩套都係好書，same characters, 有 stages 一級級上。Read at Home 有 D 小遊戲，唔知有無小朋友因為咁會鍾意 D?

更實際 D, 其實到最後，應該係兩套都會睇晒！
你唸緊買邊套？
Read at Home 淘寶好易搵到平嘅，所以唔少家長買呢套。不過可能又因為咁，我係圖書館成日都見有新淨 Read at Home 任借，ORT 就通常俾人借晒，或又殘又舊。
講完一輪，都係好難揀！

(By the way 要接到劇情，有兩本 ORT 一定要睇：ORT Stage 4's The Secret Room & The Storm, 講 the magic key & the magic house 點嚟嘅)

想買咩咪打個名上去 search 吓囉，買之前 check 店主評分同買家留言。係有舖頭賣翻版影印書，不過有寫清楚架，佢地都怕投訴怕麻煩。你預 D 書有塵有壓痕，我未買過爛書，釘裝錯嘅就有，兩次店主都即刻退番錢， ok 架。

上淘寶買英文繪本好多選擇， chapter books 就無乜，慘！

How old are they? It's a gradual process to establish reading habit and comprehension ability. Different children may develop at different paces so please follow your chidren's own pace and don't give yourself and your children pressure by referencing others.

Also, it'll be more effective to read books which your children may have interest instead of those you 'want' them to learn. I see it the priority to establish reading habitat first. Then, to broaden the variety of subject and the depth/level of books.

Later when your children can read alone, they may sometimes still ask you to read books for them. For this situation, it's not about their reading ability but parental relationship. I'll treasure the request and will spare time to read. Say, my child can read alone but always wants me to read bed time story.

Assuming you are a bilingual (or even multilingual) parent, please put some effort also for a balanced language development before your children insist only to read books of a specific language. Say, your children can manage English alone then you can read Chinese books for bedtime.

When they are older (say 8 to 9 years old), they may ask you to listen to them reading books to you. This is what my son requests me to do regularly.

好confuse, 每stage又分 teach Phonics, practise phonics, Richer Reading, Levelled phonics, Fiction, Poetry, non fiction ...... 每種又有6至36本書，究竟點分？

大家一向講開嘅 ORT 係嗰套 Biff, Chip & Kipper Classic stories, extra 嗰 D 淨係套 Floppy phonics fiction 都係呢幾個小朋友嘅故事。
其他如 non-fiction, portry 等都唔錯，不過有 D 我係圖書館揭過，我自己都唔覺得好睇，寧願借其他。

You can consider buying Biff, Chip and Kipper - Decode and Develop stories also. I bought this series as I couldn't find them in our neighbourhood library. Booklodge was doing discount on them but they plan stop selling OUP books after selling the existing stock.

LL222，我都有買 floppy's phonics啲故事書，故事用字 support floppy's phonics sounds & letters同stage系列。可作phonics 教材。
我只借過幾本songbirds phonics，作為學\溫phonics也不錯。snapdragons fictions也很好。似乎仲有個series on traditional tales，但就未借過。
我囡還細，只對故事有興趣，我沒有硏究non-fiction,poetry 是什麼。

不如你到附近圖書館睇下呢幾個系列藏書多唔多，啲書殘唔殘，再借幾本睇下內容，睇下小朋友鍾唔鍾意，先再決定買什麼。
我哋圖書館有大量Biff, Chip & Kipper stories, first sentence，more stories，patterned stories 所以我就唔買啦。我都有個朋友怕圖書館汚漕，買咗好多套嘅。

Very first reading 0岩3歲小朋友呀, 我仔未夠三歲都睇到. 其實圖書館都有, 你可以先借一兩本睇下先.

How much is Decode and Develop when you order it online? I found them at ETC Edu Tech for HK$224 for Stage 1+ and HK$257 for Stage 2. Am curious if that is a good price.

Got them from booklodge (but they are no longer available)Stage 1+: $171, 2 & 3: $195 @; 4 & 5: $215 @.
