小兒將於九月前往英國就讀year 10,不知道出張低签賑額信用咭給他好,還是另有更好提議..(注要方便他上網訂購火車/national express 車票)

我是到中環 HSBC總行做的叫英國學生戶口, 要預約做, 要帶埋申請了的student visa去

Thx! msmchan 的回覆.. 我已詢問過HSBC.,原來要擁有卓越理財户口,才可以免開户手續費,否則,要付HK$1600手續費!

Do NOT pay for a bank account. The banks in UK did not start charging international students until recently. You can get an account for free from other banks like NxXWest. Sometimes you get more benefits such as a free railcard, good phone deals. HXBC is misleading people on opening bank accounts that carry a charge. A normal child account has higher interest. In fact, many parents in UK make good use of their child bank account to save money for tax reason. The child account does not have to pay tax (tax is payable in UK for interest).

If your child is a boarder, you can ask the house parent to help opening an UK bank account for him/her.

建行有一個專為留學生而設的戶口，父母在香港私人網上戶口入錢，子女便可以憑咭在英國ATM機提錢，用幾多入幾多不過每次要付HK$25元手續費。唔知這個方法是不是最方便和最安全呢?

我問過HSBC，要足十六處才可擁有信用卡的附屬卡。有無其他銀行會發卡給未足十六歲的學生？

銀行職員話可以用香港的普通儲蓄戶口，係英國有HSBC 標誌的ATM提款，不過不論提款金額多少，每次收港幣四十元。

1) 有些學校會替學生儲起Pocket money, 每一段時間會給同學, 這樣學生便可以不需用卡都可要有零用錢

2) 有些家長會與監護人有協議, 由監護人發零用錢給同學, 到時會向家長出單收錢

3) 用HSBC 在有ATM提款是可以的, 每次收手續費約40元, 如果同學一次過提款用作長時間用, 手續費便少, 提款當然是即時匯率計, 但要keep 住錢在身, 會有危險, 被愉或遺失

4) 去到英國開戶及申請Debit card是不用手續費, 但要等約3-4星期先有Debit card 寄去學校

以上4個選擇大家可以比較一下

I opened a HSBC account in UK(based on HK's bank balance) and my son opened his own (arranged by school). No minimum requirement for both accounts. Through HSBC's global transfer, I transfer money to my UK account and then transfer from my UK account to son's account. Free of charge for both transactions. The UK account also provide the credit card, debit card and cheque book, therefore I can pay the school fee by cheque.
