大家收到簡介會通知書未呀? 我今日收到啦, 會係6月27號(sat)。我之前打去問過, 到時好似會講埋派邊班等等既資料。

不過我有個朋友報左第二輪, 佢地7月2號先公佈成績, 我又奇怪點解唔等埋佢地入圍既小朋友先黎開簡介會呢?

另外8月最尾個星期六係新生適應日, 好期待呵

Based on your information, the briefing date for the new P1 parents for this year is much earlier than that in the past few years (normally in mid-July).

One possible reason/advantage, as pointed out by kaifu, is that the school can know how many applicants being offered in the first phase admission will finally confirm the offers earlier so that the school will know the number of final vacancies they can offer to applicants in the second phase application.

Another possible reason is perhaps due to the current school suspension, the teachers can have more time to do this much earlier than in previous years.

- If it is the same policy as in previous years, you will be given a few days to make up your mind.
Especially for basic French, the school needs to know the exact number of pupils taking this subject in order to purchase the French books in France and it takes some time for the books to be sent to HK.

同埋兩者選修既小朋友比例, 係咪日文多d呢? 請指教, thanks!

- I do not know the exact figures. But it seems that there are a bit more pupils taking basic French.

最後...我地聽仔仔既意願, 同佢選左日文。尋日幫佢FAX左返學校。
另外, 我想問下校車係咪大家都要好早呢? 我地坐巴士只係3個站, 但要7:13上校車。我先生話比佢自己坐, 等工人姐姐帶妹妹返幼稚園。但我覺得太早了....唉...另外課外活動只停四個大站, 真係大開眼界...

The boarding time depends on the routes.
I would say 7:13 a.m. boarding time is not very early, just average.
Those living in the New Territories need to board the school bus much earlier.

Besides convenience, you may consider taking school bus as part of the social life for your child as he can then know more schoolmates of different classes and different grades.

The P1 admission talk originally scheduled on
July 11 has already been cancelled due to H1N1.
You have to wait until September when the school resumes.

You already know a lot more than any other applicants!!

Remember to send your application online from August 17 onwards.

我都有唸比佢坐校車係可以識多D朋友仔...但係真係太早了....

Normally, the school bus will arrive at school around 7:45-7:50 a.m.

Whether the journey is direct or not depends on if your stop belongs to the first few stops or the last few stops of your route.

You have to make the decision for your child that will suit him best.

Our son also pick basic Japanese. We will definitely let him ride on the school bus as we live too far away.

Hi, everyone

All of us have to buy a few more books this Fri/Sat at school.

Basically, I've wrapped most of the books.  I'll put label on top.

I guess we all have a lot of things that we are not sure about.  Hope that we could get more info this Saturday.

I always tell my son that he will be the smallest in the school but still he has to take care of himself.  Trust that the teacher will help them adapt to primary school life.

BTW, will your kid take school bus ?  When is the boarding time ?

It's mentioned in the SMS that kids must wear school uniform & arrive at school before 9am this Sat & school bag is optional.

I do think book cost of over $1500 a year for P.1 is expensive. As for the price of Japanese book, we have no choice. Just hope that they were good.

Usually, the telephone line of Wai Fat is always busy because the staff intentionally do that in order to avoid answering too many enquires over phone.

Few years ago, when I tried to call them to check whether a particular book was in stock or not, I called more than ten times at different timing in a day but in vain.

Finally, I had to go there to check whether that book was available or not?

Looks like you need to talk to them in person on coming Friday/Saturday.

Ops... we received a call from the school bus nanny 2 days ago and confirmed the pick up time of the Sat is 8:30am at Tiu Keng Leng (the usual pick up point).

I just wonder if we could arrive before 9am. The normal pick up time is 7:10am and the school hour is 8:10am.

Little_Princess,

I think most of the school buses (different routes) target to arrive at the school around
7:45-7:50 a.m., though all the pupils are requested to arrive at the classrooms not later than 8:10 a.m. when the class period starts.

The school bus company should have reserved some leeway in the travelling time, just in case there might be accidents/congestion on the road sometimes.

looks like they have different people responsible for different districts. just need to wait until they call...hopefully sometime before Sat.

I live in Kln City & the normal pick-up time is also 7:10am. Strange. I suppose TKO should be further away from the school than Kln City. When we take school bus this Sat, maybe we can get a clue.

As far as I know, the school bus company is the main co-ordinator for services of different routes.
They may sub-contract different routes to different licensed owners of school bus.
Therefore, the final arrangement for the test drive on coming Saturday has been fixed for certain routes while some others are still finalizing the details.
It may depend on the individual route.

If you are talking about the physical distance, you are correct in saying that Kowloon City is closer to the school than TKO.

However, if Little_Princess' stop is almost the last stop of the route and the school bus will go all the way on the highway to school without too many traffic lights, it's possible to reach the school in about 30 minutes.

But if your stop is one of the first few stops of the route and the school bus needs to stop at many points with dozens of traffic lights, it may even end up with longer time to reach the school than the school bus from TKO.

这里是否有住盈辉台、乐园、华丰园或荔欣苑的家长？刚收到校车路线，pickup point 是荔欣苑C座对面的巴士站。因为在马路对面，要小朋友每天可能还没有睡醒的情况下（上午7点10分）过马路很不放心，而且不是一天两天，要整六年。打过电话给Bus driver希望能将pickup point改在回旋处，但答覆话研究一下。如果有大家有同样顾虑的，也希望打个电话给他们，多一个人说一下应该会好一点。

對於校車公司的服務,我真的十分不滿,因為直到現在,它仍未確定上下車地點, 說要在星期六才通知我. 當我質疑他是否應於星期六讓我們試坐,他才說明天會試行路線,所以最快要明晚才可決定上下車時間及地點 ....
封通知信要等到今天才收到已經遲到不可接受,但信中上落車地點只有屋苑名 (我住的屋苑有二十多座),而且時間只是初步決定就更加難接受 ....
之前在這裡都有不少家長投訴這間校車公司 ... 今次終於親身體會到.

Hello, my daughter is in 1E (French). Hope will find other parents from the same class too.

I've just received a call from the bus company that they will call us again regarding the school bus pick up time on Sat.

But I find the bus service is not too bad as they are willing to change the normal pick-up time when they received calls from other parents of our bus that the time was too early, and they also have "short-month" bus fee.

I also have the same feeling that the school bus services is not professional at all. It's hard to imagine picking up time for tomorrow is still not fixing until now!!! I called the lady who'll be taking care of student in school bus yesterday and she said bus driver will call me today but still no call yet.... They're not running the school bus services for the first year, they should have experience to handle. I don't dare to complaint to the lady nor bus driver yet as both of them will take care of my girl in 6-year time

Just received the call from the school bus driver, but he was not told me the pick up time nor the pick up point ... he just asked me the location of my building since he just got the order from bus company on today .. he has to run the routing first and advise us the actual pick up time and point on coming Monday ( just a day before the school day !!!!) ... of course, he is unable to provide me the trial school bus service on tomorrow ...
It really hard to believe that the school can tolerate a school bus company like that !

FYI, 有關明天的校車安排, 我也是未收到電話通知, 剛剛打去查問,才知道上車去程沒有安排, 只安排回程. 因為我的case是只參加放學校巴 ,但是當時校巴公司確定無論單程 or 雙程, 都可以參加29/8之校巴服務, 可是, 今日的答案不同了.

rec'd the call at about 3pm. the driver was very nice. he was patient enough to answer all my questions. since we are the only ones (new P.1 student) taking that route tmr, so we can't really try the real route. so, i told the driver that we would get there by ourselves.

Got the call finally and the driver did sound nice - perhaps the same guy?
Now our little prince is fast asleep.  He said he was very nervous about tomorrow before going to bed.  I am actually quite excited as he is now a primary school kid finally...still remember the time when I first went to my primary school decades ago.

We have finally tried the bus service both ways on the orientation day. Since we can try the route with the new students only, we cannot have the full picture of the whole route when the bus is full. Anyway, the service was satisfactory.

After reading a pile of the school notice, I have some questions that want to share:

Will you order the Chinese or English newspapers for kids? My husband wants the English one but I worry if it will be too difficult for P1 student to read. Any suggestion?

Will you let your kids to join the speech festival this year? We are interested in it but if there is no training from school, I'm a bit worry. Any of you know if the school will provide other supports for the candidates?

- Daily 7 may be one choice as there are only 4 little pages with lots of colourful pictures and photos.
This newspaper should be rather easy to read by P1 pupils.
Is this newspaper on the recommended list this year?

- Theoretically, there will be no training provided for P1 pupils.
You may need to find some centres in town or train by yourself.
Actually, for P1 pupils, I think most parents just want their children to join the Speech Festival to gain some experience and broaden their horizon.

我地訂左經濟果份, 一星期一份, 都好似OK。其餘兩份都冇訂呀。
另外我地有報英詩朗誦, 普通話就冇。仔仔K3時已經去過比賽, 兩樣出黎既結果都不過不失。但係英文就我地自己TRAIN, 普通話就搵外面老師TRAIN。今年小一剛適應, 同仔仔相量過, 佢都係PREFER去英詩。如果到時連學術上都遇到困難, 大不了唔出席個比賽囉 =P

唔知係咪班班都會換位呢?因為我仔仔係29號比隔離個同學"meet"佢手臂,"meet"到紅曬.....我接佢時都仲睇到有紅,我仔話老師都見到,已即時話了這位同學,希望會有改善,我仔係細仔,又怕羞又怕事,我已經同了仔仔講,如果再發生就必要向老師提出,不要再啞忍.........
