申請英國大學conditional offer考AL有否優勢？

Do not be too happy.
Conditional offer does not mean anything.You need to be able to fulfil the final conditions.
I would not go out to tell everyone about these offers yet.

What exactly are the "conditions"?
Can he be confident he can meet the requirements?

More qualifications of course would be better.
Just that whether he can be confident to handle extra exams.

May be you should clarify, whether your friend is talking about GCSE or GCEAL.

咁計唔公度，因為大學生係畢業時，政府資助免費考，好多人求其考。你可以話佢地唔認真，但相信數字不反映真正水平。

去 british council 考的，真金白銀比錢考，學生會認真考。
我有印象，british council 有數據，平均 6.5 分，但九成係 form 5-6 。

自己上網找資料係最好。
就算同一大學，唔同科已經有唔同要求。一線大學同二三缐大學分別亦會幾大。
真心想話，conditional offer 只係第一關，大把人 meet 唔到 condition。
做家長，小朋友有 offer ，好多人會開心過頭，急不及待專家上身，我唔建議亂跟，不喜勿插。

客觀數據，Form 5-6， 6.5 分。靠個分去外國讀書，好多人去比千幾蚊上堂補習。
大學畢業己是 4-5年後，6.76 分；我少聽見工要 ielts ，又唔係有乜實際用途，我信有唔少人唔會做準備就考。
有準備 vs 冇/唔準備。
我見你批評 DSE 批得好狠，亦知你小朋友讀 ESF，但有時還是要客觀。
我仔女都係 ESF，十幾年，見唔少讀唔成書，
慢慢努力，唔好太大口氣。

若指定是98, 但只得97,是否一定入不到，定可以再面試後，可以呢？

Top tier universities:  then probably you lose your offer completely.

Second tier universities: you can ask your high school counsellor to write another recommendation for you. I have heard positive results.

Most top tier universities ask for SAT, but many other "good universities" no longer make SAT a must.
If you are merely looking for a "safe net", then choose those that do not ask for SAT.
For many reasons, many universities no longer feel SAT ("SAT I" I mean) is that meaningful.

Canadian universities give conditional offers.
The higher the PG, the lower the condition.
A friend's son got offer from University of Toronto Biochemistry with IB 41. The condition is a mere pass in IB.
