when is the exam date? 2011? if so, there are 12 months for preparation, no need PUSH too hard. Your girl can sit in front of the piano for over 90mins? I think you may 'choose' 3 songs + scales for each practising session, then change another 3 songs next day. Cover ALL songs each time is really a burden for 6 years old kid.

And I think your girl gets pressure from NEW songs. Once she plays smooth, teacher add new song, so she feel pressure about it and that's why 'not playing smooth' is better for her (escape from new songs). Maybe tell her to finish all songs in 1 book, then that book would disappear (not continue to upper grade), she would be willing to practise.
