我見這裡很少家長上來傾談, 不知是否太忙? 所以我想試試開個新forum來傾下計。我的孩子下年將會入讀spcc, 不過, 在這之前我家將需要重新安排居住的地方, 所以也希望與其他準家長和家長多溝通, 讓我能make the right choice.

I will try to see whether I can get the contact number of the school bus. I think it make sense to consider whether the location who choose can accomodate both of your son.

我先生也是今早去register的, 一齊順利.
佢問過有關校車info, 但校務處職員說可能要到出年5月才能有較多info.不過已知從西九龍去學校要每月$1650.

唉, 其實我也想考慮kennedy road, 不過, 一來我大兒子返學(若未轉校), 便太遠; 二來, 我自今年開始便quit了工作, 尃注在家中幫孩子溫習, 看功課、和陪他們等...所以家中只有一個人賺錢, 我覺得我先生的壓力會比較大, 而那邊的租金會較貴...所以, 可能會先考慮上環、西環一帶, 甚或西九龍一帶, 務求兩個兒子都能就到...

另外, 唔知會唔會有些小一、二的家長能分享一下St Paul小一的課程, 讓我們可以較容易適應! 例如:中、英、數會用甚麼textbook, 工作紙或測考時比較多做那種類的問題等等。

好多謝妳既分享。
如妳所講, 咁其實spcc既測考情況同我大仔間津校差唔多。所以, 我先要quit左份工來幫佢, 因大仔性格較心散; 不過, 我細仔就好自律, 所以, 希望佢讀得ok.

我也曾聽過有些學校(e.g. x心), 佢地就係教得少, 但測得多, 學生若能力稍有不遞, 便追得很辛苦...

唔洗太擔心既, 我囝而家小二, 小一時第一個學期係無測驗及考試, 連默書都無, 中文課本用現代, 英文無課本, 主要用工作紙, 數學(唔係好記得), 但會教深一個學期既野

中、英、數都真係幾深下, 同埋佢地係跳黎教, 有時 ...

好多謝BK既editor幫 spcc改番名同轉番去正確既屬區。

想問問子女讀緊的家長會否覺得小朋友在校內會compare家境, 又或是家長會否感到任何因家庭背景不同而產生的壓力?

我自己暫時對於學校的印象是校風很好, 學生們一般都很humble. 我很希望孩子不會因家庭背景的差異而感到壓力。

I remember another parent once said that the pick up time at 麗港城 is 7:30am...it seems quite good.

0630 - Kowloon Tong (now we live)
0645 - Hung Hom
0700 - Happy Valley
0730 - Aberdeen

我們雖然也是基督教, 但並非聖公會, 我發覺在申請號碼上也只是得一個B, 其非BR. 所以, 我覺得我也是屬於完全沒有關係及"宗教分"的一類。其實, 宗教分不是KEY POINT, 真的是小孩在面試時的表現, 才是關鍵。另外, 在我來說幼稚園成績表似乎也有頗大的功效。不知其他準家長是否有同感?

另外, 我也聽說今年有applicant雖然有校董的介紹信, 父母也是銀行家, 但始終因臨場表現不理想而沒有被取錄。

Your assumption is correct! That's why when I applied, I don't really give a hope of going to the school. But it turns out that it accepted my boy, so it's really like a bonus to our family!

這陣子都不斷在考慮應該搬去哪兒的問題....當然,我們亦有將此事交託給天父。而天父的帶領真的很奇妙, 話說我先生那天去交學費轉賬的表格時, 在學校門口見到有多部媬姆車, 於是便又上前問問他們的路線和上車時間等, 結果竟發現其中有去新界區的車, 而更巧合的是, 那車的負責人竟與我們住在同一屋苑。所以, 現在我們有機會可考慮不用搬屋, 而兩個孩子都可以就到上學時間....

應該係要係荃灣地鐵站上車, 若6:50am, 不過, 未確定...你知d爸爸問野, 問d又唔問d, 所以我都仲check緊...
該負責人仲告訴我先生, 他們最遠的學生在元朗錦田, 所以, 真係遠處未算遠....

According to 小學概覽, the school starts at 8:00AM, finishes at 2:45PM (you should also expect that your kid may join some after-class activities and it may take him/her to stay school for 1-1.5 hour more). The lunch is at 12:15-13:00. Each lesson lasts 35 minutes and 8 lessons a day.
4 tests and 2 exams a year, material covers in each test/exam will usually not be tested again unless they are the fundermental concepts.

Congrats! Your boy is really smart and perform well in interviews!
In my opinion, I would still choose SPCC because
it is a Co-Ed school, believe me, I have seen how the students behave in boys' schools; in order to keep the boys behave well without girls in the class, teachers mostly quite stern with them, cos' some boys are really "active" and "smart". I also believe that it is better to grow up in a co-ed environment, not to say that SPCC's students are mostly bright and humble. As you can observe from the Open Day, their facilities are excellent. My boys love the labs and the library very much.

BTW, how does your boy feel? You mentioned that he prefers DBS more....Does he say his reasons?

My son is accepted by St.Paul Co-ed and DBS..which one do you prefer? I spoke to his teachers and  ...
