個人意見係唔可以太單純去睇。
首先學校既DSE的整體成績，受好多因素影響。而小朋友比較容易受朋輩影響，環境好重要，所以無可否認係一間成績好啲既學校，係有一定好處。
第二，自己小朋友既成績，未必同其他同學既成績有 correlation（相關性），即使有相關性，亦未必有 causality。所以個人努力永遠比環境更重要。

呢個真係正常現象，所以分析時需要考慮呢個因素。有啲學校只准學生揀兩科，有啲學校准許學生揀三科加M1/M2。有啲學校唔會強迫學生drop科，但係有啲會（想做靚條數），所以除咗睇成績外，都需要睇人數。

我覺得聖馬可同港島民生差別唔大，但係個人比較鍾意聖馬可。純粹係個人比較鍾意睇辯論比賽。

I would say the two schools are equally good.  But for those who love writing and debate, St. Mark's School is better.

Just for discussion.

Not really.  Because every St. Mark's student takes more elective subjects, they have higher chance to get higher best 5 scores.

我睇法相似，其實我反而擔心港島民生既主科合格率，其中通識科明顯同B1水平有啲啲距離。B2B既2+率=89%，4+率=36%；
MS既2+率=98.6%，4+率=49.6%。

Not sure.  But, it is no doubt that MS has a 3.7% (Biology) to 34% (M2) higher in "% of 4+" in elective subjective.  However, the percentages are misleading.  If the number of SMS students taking the same subjects were 3.7% to 34% more than that in MS, then number of students having "number of 4+" in SMS might be higher in the same subject.

你又講得啱，民生收生質素未必低過聖馬可。聖馬可受小學影響咗，民生受九龍民生影響，東區唔少家長真係buy民生多過聖馬可，尤其係啲外區搬來既。前幾年，我都同唔少朋友分析過呢個問題，其中一個新移民爸爸同我傾開，先知道佢以為港島民生就係成績好好嗰間民生。

Yes, without the 5+ data, it is difficult to compare.
In this situation, I believe the most workable way to compare them would be to take the actual 4+ and 2+ numbers, plug them into Hong Kong Average Curve, and project their 5, 5* and 5**.
It is not the best way, but is the best way under the current circumstances.

How about other electives ?

For the electives, I would assume that SMS and MS students take 2.8 and 2.2 electives respectively. Then use statistical method to best guess the real performance of each subjects in each school.  Again, it is not perfect, but it is the best approach to compare apples to apples.

因為兩間學校公佈既資料唔夠，所以只能估。因為只能估，所以我無將分析效果講出來，以免唔導咗人哋。
