you can still apply DSS after you registered an allocated place from gov school, however, if you receive SMC offer before 26 Nov, (which is most likely), you will need to decide which road you are going as DSS will request parents to sign an undertaking not to seek allocation in the gov system and the school will inform EDB accordingly.  Your case is better because you know you will get a place from your old school, so you can now comparing these 2 schools from various perspective and see which one suits your child better.

You can still go on your interview for DSS or private school, but you can only hold 1 place for your child.  So say if you registered in old school and afterward you receive offer from SMC, you will need to give up the place in old school and sign a letter for SMC to inform EDB that your place in old school is released for central allocation.

Yes, of course.  And you need to sign the letter to inform EDB you give up the central place allocation
