My daughter is learning Primary and will take the exam next year. Will your daughters practise at home? Is it enought just dancing at the school?

Is the JMW very commercial? Someone said that they will only choose those beautiful, tall and thin girls for the main character of the performance. Is it true?

學芭蕾舞真的好似一個無底深潭，每升一級，學費又會增加，學費、雜費和考試費，再加上表演費，每年都可能要2萬，所以條數都好恐怖!

My daughter has sit in that exam. Actually, all children will go together with the teacher to attend the exam, which is not a formal one. If you do not want to take, you can leave it. But I think it is a good experience to a child to let her know what is exam.

By the way, my daughter is one of the students, who are the first batch to take this exam. She is very enjoyed.

我真係收到老師既考試通知, 考既係Pre-school Ballet Level 1。但我個女而家都係3歲3個月....咁快考...得嗎? 佢只係學左一年左右....出年5-6月考....

Children will not feel hard when preparing the exam, which is very informal one. Children just find playful when attending the exam.

I think that it is good for the children to know what is exam. But some parents said that it wastes of money because the certificate is not a formal one. It depends on what you want.

多謝你既意見...如果呢次考試唔係要係咁train佢地, 咁都可以比佢試下。
因為我怕佢地要成日做埋同一個動作, 令佢怕左學芭蕾舞。

After Grade 5, is it really required a lot of time to practise ballet? How many lessons per week?

小女有些同學仍未能落晒一字馬，但已經比前進步好多，再練下應該就可以。

我囡囡剛剛收咗通告，如果要考英國皇家芭蕾舞考試，Grade 5以上的同學需要每星期上3堂。

I cannot buy the ticket of Alice and the Wonderland because I choose Sat's afternoon.

Maybe, I will let my daughter watch Swan Lake next year because she is just 6 years old and can attend now.

香港藝術節有一齣好像是"Alice and the Wonderland", 這個一很適合較小的小朋友看。 前兩天話女兒去看了吉賽爾" 兩幕芭蕾舞劇，很感人但第二幕悶場較多，我見很多小朋友都睡著了。

明年hk ballet會上演經典劇"天鵝湖" ...

I think that the business of ballet school is not as good as the generation, that of Ms Jean Wong, etc. Anyway, I think that ballet is a good training for kids. Apart from becoming a teacher, I think that ballet can enhance all stage performances, e.g. drama, singing, etc.

Besides, ballet can improve the spatial and music sensitivity (kinds of the multi-intelligences) and confidence of kids. That is why I will let my daughter continues if she does not give up.

Have you taught her how to count the beats? Usually, ballet music is 3 times (some are not) and the beats are very simple and obvious. May be you can buy some simple piano pieces CD (classical ones with a lot of dance music, e.g. Children pieces and let her listen more and tell her how to count the beats. And practise at home by clapping the beats. As time pass by, she will have beats inside her heart.

Actually, ballet is a kind of arts that combine music and motions. That is why it is a good activity for child.

老師話佢音樂感不好, 有時快有時慢, 如拍子跟不到, 動作就有D亂, 可能是這個原因

Can you explain more about what is "一所較有出路的ballet school"? Does it mean that there are some schools not good for higher grade? Thanks.

考澳州試d...ballet最認可係英國試,千奇咪浪費$$$

They don't allow you to stop for one year?

I think that examination, somehow, is not bad but it depends on how you treat it. I will treat it as a milestone to measure the standard. If not up to standard, I will let my daughter to repeat.
