Though we receive 2nd interview letters, but there's still uncertainty, who knows, maybe if Mrs Dai couldn't select the right calibre, they will send out another batch of letter.

I try to keep myself neutral.  Thanks to those who send us their best wishes.

Read from other thread that it seems DGJS is still sending out 2nd int letter, keep waiting you all.

So, if you do not recieve any letter on this Friday. Just need to wait the lett ...

You meant what you knew was there won't be anymore letter to send out starting today.

My friend got the 2nd int letter today and the int date is Nov12.  Donno if they're still sending out.

The letter my friend rec'd today was stamped on Oct 28.  So seems like "waiting" letter and "2nd int " letter are sending out simultaneously.

I personally believe the principal determines the girl is good, then she's good, this is the most essential, but it doesn't have to be good at interview performance.  Don't forget, for some years, there was only 1 interview with principal, Mrs Dai has the sole discretion.  Even for this year, the game changed, but then now Mrs Dai is still choosing quite alot of girls for her personal assessment.  So the most essential thing is still principal's personal judgement.  I wish to hear that good performers will have higher chance, but yet I don't believe this is it.

Agreed.  Heard that 500 girls in this round.  So 1/5 chance.

About 500 girls in this round, just heard from another mum whose daughter also got 2nd int, there was also another bk mum here said the group may be range between 300-500.  Can't confirm the source though.  

About any straight - in, I know nothing, but even this does exist, nothing surprised to me.

She already asked for understanding that she has too many pm to reply to?  And she didn't create the topic, she just came by and shared little about it only, then suddenly having so many pm.  

Let's be considerate to others if we want to see more sharing in the forum otherwise ppl would be discouraged from sharing anymore.  And the bottom line is there's no obligations to share to all.

I agree that certain amt of pressure is necessary, because this is how it works in our society.  So as parents of this kind of highly competitive schools, I guess they have to accept this and learn how to manage themselves and their children.  Pressure exists everywhere, the difference is how we deal with it and cope with it.  If one wants to be always on the top of the mountain, they have to accept great challenge and pressure.  So the next question is are we willing to accept not the top academics results in exchange with a manageable amt of pressure, and a child then could still survive in this environment?  Or does this exist in DGJS?

I'm one of those who read and reply to this thread as we're all waiting for 2nd round result.  No doubt that DGJS is a brilliant school, but as parents to be (if lucky enough) I have to be realistic, as I won't expect my child to achieve the highest academics all the times.  This is about managing expectations.

Anyway, good luck to us all.

Yes, this is how some ppl deal with pressure, they treat it like a "challenge" everytime they see "pressure" and they enjoy the process.  This really depends on one's characters and EQ.  Parents do play a role here as well.
