2008 Babies - Prepare for N1 2010-2011 (Chatroom)

Hi Twinsmummy, it is so nice to chat with you.

The medium of teaching at So Jit (Kiangsu-Chekiang) is Mandarin, the school has both local and international stream.  Which one will you apply?

Victoria at Causeway Bay is the famous one and long history among all Victoria schools at different locations.  Which one will you apply?

SPN (St. Paul's Nursery) is only provides full day class, so will you plan to send both twims to a full day class?

I observe that not so many famous nursery schools, I mean neither full day nor international schools in Hong Kong.  

I live on Kowloon side (LCK), so I'd better to apply Kowloon Tong nursery schools such as HKPS and Keen Mind, but I never think about Victoria and Cannan.  If my daughter is not admitted by both HKPS & Keen Mind, I will apply kindergarten schools next year both HK & Kowloon side, Victoria and Cannan will be placed the final ranking.

My daughter is just 14 months old. She still cannot recognise colours and shapes, same as your kid.  TT nursury school fee is HK$6800 per month, if you prefer to let your kid study international school.

Have you started to teach your son?  Can he walk or speak some single words?

Pui Ching is a famous school but the medium of teaching is Chinese.

In fact, HKPS and Keen Mind are only my main target nursery schools, but for kindergarten schools, my aim is Kentville, St. Catherine's, St. Paul's, St. Stephen's and Sacred Heart.

Anyway, if my daughter is not successful in those mentioned kindergarten schools, I think I will apply Victoria and Cannan.

But I still have querry about Heep Yunn because I never hear this school has 8 A or 9A students in HKCEE.  Maybe, I am not familiar with Kowloon side schools.  

Also, if Heep Yunn compares with Kentville and St. Catherine's, which one is better?

From BK, most of parents always discuss these 2 kindergartens instead of Heep Yunn.

Yes, I agree with you.  Besides SH and SPK, St. Stephen's Girls School, St Clare's and Sheng Kung Hui, St. Joseph's are also famous and competitive kindergarten schools.

Of course, I prefer SPK because I graduated there many years ago.

SH has a lot of homeworks to do in primary school according some parents comments.

All are good schools, if you target HY primary, you should choose HY Kinder.

Yes, I know but it all depends on my daughter's ability during interview but I will not send her to study SPN, I prefer to send her to study nursery at Kowloon Tong because I live on Kowloon side.  I think I will apply SPK next year.  

I hope more experienced parents are willing to share interview and teaching in some nursery schools.

I am also the alumni of St. Paul's Convent School.  

It is funny my husband does not like his daughter to apply Pui Ching kindergarten although he graduated from this school.  He explained that he does not like his kid learn so much Chinese but also does not like his kid to study international school, just traditional school.

He always said that his English is not very good as compared with other famous school because only 6 years secondary school, English is syllabus A.  But his mathematics is very good because he got grade A in HKCEE and grade A in HK Higher Level examination.  Pui Ching is very good at science subject, there was one alumni got nobel prize!

What is TT PG class schedule for your kid?  Maybe, we shall meet together.  My daughter class shedule is every Saturday from 10:30am to 12:00 noon.  The TT is located next to MTR station.

Cannan: 7 Sep 2009
Creative: Sep 2009
HKPS: 7 Nov 2009
Keen Mind: Jan 2010
Victoria: Not yet informed

How old is your kid?  Which N1 school at Kowloon Tong will you plan to apply?  Will your kid able to walk and talk?

My daughter is also 14 months old.  She cannot walk steady and only says simple words same as your son.  HKPS application form is available on 7 November.  I am afraid that she is not able to be interviewed.

No Victoria at Kowloon Tong, only located at Homantin and Harbour Green (Olympic station).

I plan to apply 2 schools only, Keen Mind & HKPS, if she is not admitted, I will let her continue to stay at Tutor Time playgroup.
