Probably there are parents who will give up their upheld seats and won't show up on 27/6.  Then the school may know how many vacancies all together for the 2nd phase applicants.

Our son also pick basic Japanese.  We will definitely let him ride on the school bus as we live too far away.

looks like they have different people responsible for different districts.  just need to wait until they call...hopefully sometime before Sat.
our dear "principal", i hope the school is more efficient in their administration!

Ops... we received a call from the school bus nanny 2 days ago and confirmed the pick up time of the Sat is 8:30am at Tiu Keng Leng (the usual pick up point).

I just wonder if we could arrive before  ...

No letter and no call at all and their phone is always busy.  We plan to drive there tomorrow and we will talk to the school directly about the school bus arrangment.

Got the call finally and the driver did sound nice - perhaps the same guy?  
Now our little prince is fast asleep.  He said he was very nervous about tomorrow before going to bed.  I am actually quite excited as he is now a primary school kid finally...still remember the time when I first went to my primary school decades ago.

Last week they did not contact us because they thought that there were no new students at our stop, yet they found our application form and others after we called them.
Today, there were not enough seats for all the kids in the school bus.  There were 7 kids waiting but only 6 empty seats.  My son ended up sitting with two other kids in 2 seats without having a seat belt.
The woman at the school bus office said they won't deploy an additional bus just because of an extra student.
So does it mean that the kids need to play musical chairs twice everyday to see who may be unfortunate enough to ride the bus without a seat??????

Haven't been back for sometime (crazy work schedule, deadlines after deadlines). Anyway, nice to see more new P1 parents sharing here.
My son finally got his own seat in the school bus for the morning trip, but the atitude of the school bus people remains the same.  He needs to take the extra school bus two times a week and is always 15 min or more later than the scheduled arrival time.  
He seems to be quite happy and busy with school life.  All his homework periods are occupied except for Thursdays.   
I almost beat him up after seeing his below 80 marks in the 2nd Chinese test paper!  He has big troubles in Chinese sentence writing!  On the other hand, he got 9.5 points on his Japanese test.  This really impressed me a lot as I don't know any single word.

Good to hear that you are getting closer to join the TSL family.  My son is very happy at school and making different new friends including some South Asian students.  TSL will become more multicultural after your son is admitted!

Thanks ljsze.  My son is now doing the "a passage a day" on his own before we come home.  It took us by surprise that he could turn on the computer and get connected to the internet all by himself and we never taught him!
Anyway, he is improving his reading skills but he needs to practice more on sentence-writing.

Probably my son is only interested in foreign languages.  He was reading his Japanese textbook last night for 20 min.

It is so great that there is no school today.  I didn't have to wake up so early to wake up my son.  I could spend more time on my breakfast before going to work.  
But there are more tests coming - english and PTH and Japanese next week!

Oh yes, babyboss is fun.  We went there last year.  It is in a big shopping mall...so daddies could stay with the children and mommies could go shopping.   But the children need to understand mandarin in order to enjoy the role-plays at babyboss.
By the way, will "大溪花海農場" look like what you showed in the photo during christimas time?

There are some nice places to visit in the eastern part of Taiwan too.  Relatively few HK people have visited there.  We drove to those places from Taipei last time.

Just confirmed a 7-day trip starting from Dec 22...so better not taking another day off on Dec 21.  No, we won't go this time.

Finally all the exams are over!  Overall, I am quite pleased with my son's results.  He showed substantial improvements in all the Chinese papers, although he still needs to work harder on listening and sentence-writing.  I am also glad to see that he can now finish "a passage a day"  mostly by himself.  I think we should give credits to the chinese teacher too!  Now we can have a more enjoyable driving excursion in Taiwan - Auntie Sil, we are going to bring back a lot of children books too!
