My girl is now in 聖保祿幼稚園 K3, am class.
I would say the percentage is 90%+ for am class.

Actually I think "no" for the case of St. Paul's kindergarten.
Most of the family are ordinary ones.
Not many old girls or catholics in my girl's class.
But they do have son/daughter from teachers of Convent group (kindergartern/primary/secondary).

I let my daughter study in international pre-school for 1 year before going to K1 in SPK.

Repeating K1 would not be a good idea because by the time they finish K1, they'll feel very upset if she has to re-do it again...

SPK is very relaxed.
All of the mums are very glad our kids have a very happy kindergarten life.

K1 - no homework. no test. just arts and crafts and some 認字 : apple, car, 人, 車.
A very simple group project at the end of year.

K2 - starts writing own name and simple chinese.
some numbers and A to Z.
Occasionally needs to collect info for making presentation in class. But need to read 1 book a day (Chinese/English).

K3 (as in up to now) - writing simple Chinese and English sentences. Addition. Still 1 book a day.
Group discussion regarding animals in 1st term. Each of them has to collect the info for parrot, panda, fish and so on.
They encourage parents to collect the data with kids and make discussion together at home.
Kids can then go back to school and speak in front of the class regarding their findings.

My person opinion.
SPK better for girls.
My girl's class is 15.
2 boys and 13 girls.

I would suggest you practice some basic Chinese starting from now.
Like what is your name?
how old are u?
Who is bringing you to school today?
Are u a boy or girl?

For others, if your kid understands the question in chinese and then make answer back in English, that's fine.
