Unfortunately, I guess you can only assume the money that you paid is a "commitment" to the kindergarten for reserving a seat and ordering goods from other vendors.  Whether they can arrange the refund, this is totally up to them.

Some kindergartens would state specifically which items can be refund by certain dates.  However, this is not a must.

That's a fortunate thing to be able to make a good choice!  Hope you'd be able to sell those unused uniforms and books to other parents!
