so far we have Nov 2, 3, 6, 9.  Latest estimation of candidates:   4 x 80 = 320 students or less

In other thread,  people mentioned that St Paul Co Ed's 2nd interview grouped the candiates as follows:

1. 有關係, 相同宗教
2. 有關係, 冇宗教
3. 冇關係, 相同宗教
4. 冇關係,  冇宗教

Does anyone know if Mrs Dai has similar grouping practice in previous years ?     Wondering if particular date will mean something at DGJS this year.

Doesn't seem this way.  My girl's 1st interview was late afternoon on Oct 10 and 2nd interview is scheduled in the morning of Nov 2.     Grouping in some fashion is going on. We just don't know how !!!!       Can someone respond if any 2nd interview  is scheduled in the afternoon at all ?

Were those who received the 2nd batch letter having the interview on 10 Oct while the 1st batch letters belong to those who had taken the interview on 9 Oct?

Here is what I believe is going on.............

Mrs. Dai was having her staffs did the 1st interview based on purely the girls' performance.  From which kindergarten the girl is from or the background of parents had nearly no influence.  So girls  shortlisted are coming from diversified places without evidence of favoring a few kindergartens like previous years. (Amazing a girl got 2nd interview without submitting the 4 pages supporting doc  during application. She must be SUPER smart or the teachers were not even had the application forms on hand during 1st interview).  It is obvious that the rule of the game has changed this year.

Mrs Dai will interview herself each shortlisted girl.   I will guess 300-350 are shortlisted.

Whatever the outcome is, don't blame yourself or your kids. Instead, be proud of your kids and tell them the school they are going to next year is the best MATCH for them.    Good luck to everyone !!!!

Frankly, if DGJS changes their method of selecting their students this year (ie, based on the performance first and then other criteria), it will be a good news to all mama because it is not a school  ...

Rachethew,

Just share here instead of pm to individual.  It is a part of the culture we can talk freely here.   Besides, freedom of speech is the key value of the society we are living in.

Wow............  you two should win the Nobel prize for best parents.

This is a good example how the role of parents influences the kid's growth.
