What is heard this morning is some parents are still not happy with the regrouping.

She stays in G2 this year. G2 (English), G2 (Chinese) and G1 (Maths).  Chinese & Maths 同你個仔同 group 真係好啦!個女發夢時都可以請你幫忙.

Do you know whether the regrouping is solely on academic result of that particular subject or there are other criterias that takes into account as well?

"Have you got a chance to take a look on the English unit book?  It looks a big jump from last year."  

Really? My girl didn't bring the unit book back, so I'm not sure what she's doing in English lessons. However, she did say that she watched "Incredible" during English lessons and she mentioned Spiderman, Superman, etc.

By the way, my girl and your son are in the same Chinese class. How does he feel about the new Chinese teacher?

You're right. The pace of G1 Maths is very very slow which worries me. Actually, I'm not quite sure where my daughter is at. I haven't seen any homework posts on the intranet so far!!

Chinese is another subject that worries me. My daughter said she liked the Chinese teacher in P1 much more as she was better!!

I found the pace of G1 Maths is quite slow comparing to G2 and G3.  Besides, it seems there is relatively less homework than the other 2 groups.

For Chinese, the 3 groups are quite in line ...

Just checked my daughter's homework diary, there's no Maths homework today. She said the teacher did p.17 & p.19 during the class today. I checked her textbook and found that she's up to p.19 only.

Maths G1 is really far behind the other 2 groups. What's going on with the teacher?

Noted from the intranet that Maths Group 2 is up to pg 32.  

My boy's textbook just showed up to pg 18 as of last friday (Sep 18).  Does my boy miss something or Group 1 is far behind?   ...

My daughter has to attend one enrichment class. It's Chinese. I believe the teacher will give training for the students who are going to participate in the coming 校際普通話朗誦比賽.

G1 Maths is till moving very very slowly. G1 is up to textbook p.30 only. My girl said sometimes she was bored in the class. I'm so worried.

According to my daughter, G1 is up to only the 1st page of textbook chapter 7 (p.36). She did pages 37 & 38 on her own.

I've noticed from the intranet that G2 & G3 have already finished chapter 8 and they are doing workbook on the same. In addition, G2 & G3 have been doing Rev Exe (the thin book in grey color, I guess) weeks ago. I haven't seen any homework on Rev Exe for G1 so far!

Just wonder why the teacher took so long to cover a few chapters.

I asked my boy about his Maths class in details.  He said he doesn't know G1 is so slow as well as he knows his friends are well ahead.  He said he knew already on what the teacher ...

Same as you. I'm confused as well.

I didn't see any notes about WB chapters 7 & 8 in my daughter's HW diary and neither on the intranet. However, my daughter told me that "老師話可以做". Though I was curious and hesitated about that, I still asked my daughter to finish them hoping that she wouldn't be scolded by the teacher for doing them without prior permission from the teacher.

In addition to the above, I'm also confused as regarding the correct/standard formats of answering the math questions (addition with carrying and word problems). My daughter got low grades because of those format things.

Really need help!

You mean making sentences out of the words on the revision paper? How many sentences did your kid make in the exam last year?

How about English listening, reading & writing and speaking? I really have no idea. Could you please share with us what did your kid do in the Eng exam last year?

This year Chinese subject includes listening, writing, reading & speaking. Did your kid do any composition in the exam last year? Any strategies to do the revision?

My daughter was asked 4 questions - 2 about measurements & 2 about time.

As expected, she got 0 mark for the time questions. 佢話佢"裝"倒老師寫零分.唉!都唔知佢幾時先開竅,幾時先有時間觀念.

Have your kids turned in the English Reading Journal? I've found that my daughter's journal doesn't have page 15. What is being asked to do on that page?
