如果St.Catherines收讀英普班, 讀緊HKPS英普班的話, 你地會點揀呀????

seriously, i myself have experience of both kgs, i feel much much much better with SC,

no matter in terms of academic standard, quality (esp. patience and care) of the teaching/non-teaching staff, 學校(特別係校長)辦學的熱誠, i think SC is a very good choice.

however, many fans of HKPS may not agree. anyway, that's only my experience + personal views.

I just got the acceptance letter today and still wondering if we should go for HKPS interview tomorrow...

For me, I won't go la. It is very cold tomorrow.
I 've already had an offer from SC which is my first choice. I think it is better leave the chance to other babies.

Agree with you. I also got the seat at St. Cat, and won't go to the HKPS tomorrow.

論名氣:當然係SC.
英文程度:不用質疑.
升上小一適應情況:眼見和認識的都OK.

假如妳仲未下定決心的話,不妨註咗先.再想清楚.

但註冊不只是交註冊費$660,仲要交雜費$9xx!如果唔讀,覺得十分不值.成千多元咁就無左了!!
所以不知去唔去註冊好???

我見好多mommy都為左轉唔轉而苦惱...
或者我講我自己的pt of view啦..
我個女之前係係hkps讀英普班的. 之後我幫我女轉左去sc. 係我的經歷, 唔轉好過轉.
因為, by comparing, hkps係小班教學. 相對係sc黎講, 我本人覺得hkps好好多. hkps的老師都好nice好有耐性. 講真, hkps的eng同中文都唔係比sc差架. 因為我幫我女轉校時, 我個兒甥係hkps讀k1-k3. 所以有得比較架..
加上,k1返am, k2要返pm. 我個女0個2年的時間唔能夠好好運用. 小朋友的作息時間年年轉...我自己係比較perfer\小朋友上am班. 到pm時間係可以join其他課外活動.
如果講eng level, 我真係覺得呢2間學校都差唔多...唔係話教得深就係好. 小朋友唔係填鴨...
我女返hkps返得好開心, 學校的functions係比起sc多,我自己覺得hkps同家長的關係比起sc closed好多...
所以, 到左k3, 我女女無返sc喇, 幫她轉校回hkps.
女女係hkps開開心心甘上學, 比起sc開心好多; 或者就係小班的好處....=)

唔係出名就係好...
小朋友返學返得開心係好重要架.
做父母, 呢點唔好忽略啊~

Honestly speaking, HKPS is more difficult to be admitted owing to small class sizes(4xx vs 1xx) ...Small class size is their strength.....

我細女都讀緊HK preshool 下午Pre-N英普班，我都係考到St. Cat中英班，我無幫我個女報St. Cat英普班，因為我覺得如果我自己唔識普通話，入到St. Cat唔識同佢溫書，我已決定９月同囡囡轉過St. Cat讀K1,原因係家姐在St. Cat讀K2讀得好好，St. Cat考小學名氣大，又有咁多年教學經驗，我覺得HK preshool間學校太細了，３０個小朋友一班，個班房好細，我個女返左３個月學時常都病，而且個個月都轉普通話老師，唔好因為英普班就留在Hk preshool（以上是我個人意見）．

我覺得如果考到St. Cat或KV都應該轉校．

我囡囡都病了2個月了,但我想不關校舍細的問題,只是小朋友身體機能未適應.

你囡囡在st.c 讀k2,讀得怎樣好呢??可否形容一下好的情況?

你是否因為想讀上午校,所以才轉去st.c??定係唔想讀普通話班而走呢???

Can you kindly let me know the teachers use English or Cantonese for those non-English lessons in K2 StCat?
Are they local teachers?

I wonder you mean HKPS has small class sizes but still in those condensed classrooms right?
If the turnover rate of teachers are high,it affects their eager of participation to a certain extent....

我囡囡１４個月已返playgroup, １歲半已自己返學，都未試過個個月都要請假，仲要係時常腸胃炎，本來想同佢轉校，但係佢識左一班新同學，我又唔想同佢轉校．

St. Cat老師好有愛心，而且好識教小朋友，其實英文個個都出去補習，除左國際學校英文先叻，其實K2英文真係得２５分鐘，+多一個星期兩堂grouping，而數學就中文老師用英文教，英文功課都係中文老師教的，其它時間都係用中文上堂．

Is the change due to teacher's turnover or school system, could you share please?

Also I heard that HKP is better for boys and St. Cat is better for girls in terms of being admitted by good primary schools, what is your view on this?

今年HKPS有成十個男仔有DBS second interview, 好似K3有３班，１０個入second in比率都好高，而上年就好似無女仔考到DGJS, 所以男仔入HKPS係好些的(我都係聽我朋友在HKPS讀緊講的）．

我唔係因為讀上午班已轉過St. Cat, 而係想搵一間有名氣的學校去考小學，在九龍塘只係St. Cat & KV先多人提，你覺唔覺得呢？我覺得如果你想小學讀MCS & DGJS ＆GH就應該轉過St. Cat, 如果你想讀一些行英普的小學就留在HKPS.

I am also considering the bottom line of the average band of primary schools allocated ? Who can suggest them? Suppose I dont expect DGJS,GH,APS etc too much ....

Personally, I feel that HKPS's admin is messy. (If you read the old thread, you would realize they could not decide if they would change their campus to merge with PIPS about 4 months before the start of the new school year -- that happened two years ago).

I also saw teachers "argued" (or they have some disagreement and talked very loudly) in front of students inside the classroom when I submitted the form (for N1) this yr.

I feel that admin can partly reflect how good the school runs.

But that's just my point of view.

Dear all,

My girl studied PG in HKPS and is now studying in SC. HKPS and SC are different in style and it depends on what your preference is. My girl is happy in both schools.

My opinions on the schools are:
HKPS
1. admin. messy as you would notice a lot of mistakes in their notices
2. English standard not bad (kids need to tell Eng stories in PG already and the standard almost equalvent to the books used in 1st term of K2 in SC.)
3. a lot more ECA than in SC

SC
1. good admin. (good arrangement even they got a lot of classes)
2. large class size (more easier to adapt to primary school environment)
3. experienced teachers
4. good acadamic standard

Two campus are the same according to the school said.

Essex Cresent is newer (in terms of years of establishment) then Norkford Road.
