為什麼公司要員工經常要開OT到午夜是合理呢?

香港教育學院訓練出來的語文老師只是佔一部份, 有好多其實是其他大學的畢業生. 這些老師的質素差, 如果要怪, 不如就怪係香港各大專院校的教學質素差, 在大學任教的講師和教授質素差, 才培訓出一班劣質老師.

Student spelling and grammar at 'crisis' levels

"Standards of spelling and grammar among an entire generation of English-speaking university students are now so poor that there is "a degree of crisis" in their written use of the language, the publisher of a new dictionary warned yesterday.
Its research revealed that students have only a limited grasp of the most basic rules of spelling, punctuation and meaning, blamed in part on increasing dependence on "automatic tools" such as computer spellchecks and unprecedented access to rapid communication using email and the internet. The problem is not confined to Britain, but applies also to students in Australia, Canada and the US.

Students were regularly found to be producing incomplete or rambling, poorly connected sentences, mixing metaphors "with gusto" and overusing dull, devalued words such as "interesting" and "good".

Overall they were unclear about appropriate punctuation, especially the use of commas, and failed to understand the basic rules of subject/verb agreement and the difference between "there", "their" and "they're". "

攞一般官津校與國際學校和名直資相比, 是不公平.  大家的學生來源背景可以相差十萬八千里. 如果國際學校同名直資真係有料, 夠胆就唔好設咁多關卡, 公平抽籤收取學生. 咁佢都仲係咁好成績, 我才會寫個"服"字. 佢一日在現行收生制度下收生, 你吹到這些學校幾堅都係無意思.

另外,就算全香港都用NET 教英文, 全港母語都係英文, 咁又點? 最後都係好似英美澳, 大學生英文水平 --"POOR GRAMMAR". 仲要係掌握唔到2nd language.

你好似漏咗最重要的"家庭", 教育研究都好清楚指出"家庭"比學校對學生表現更具決定性.

師資問題, 當年教統局為咗要滿足社會要求, 在2000年開始已規定新入職英文老師必須擁有大學學位,並主修英語, 及要有英文教育文憑. 2000年前入職的, 要在五年內符合要求. 未達標的請你離開吧!

當時好多老師要提早退休, 患上精神病, 頂唔順的跳樓. 你還想怎樣去踐踏, 提高師資呢?

要指控學校和老師不濟! 欲加之罪,何患無辭.

企業高層,老闆,傳媒經常話大學生水平下降(基本上我無聽過有邊個國家是上升的), 若將茅頭指向中小學教育不濟係唔公道.

比較, 係點樣比較? 係比較現在"普及化"的平均水平 和以往"精英制"平均水平. 咁就比死人啦.

當香港只有兩間大學時, 學生人數還講緊十多萬, 要讀中六都好唔容易,最後入得大學的都係精英中的精英嗰幾% .

現在大學學位普及化, 平均水平下降根本是自然的事.

中小學教育(師資和課程)經過咁多年改革, 教育水平是高了還是低了. 公道自在人心.

只是新一代高高在上的公主王子們的家長, 抱住我係消費者的思維去睇教育. 好似教育子女不是自己責任, 子女成績不濟就係學校教得唔好, 老師水平唔夠. 水平永無止境地不夠, 不夠就是不夠, 學校要再加把勁, 老師要再加把勁, 要天天向上, 不斷向上.
