When people's personal interests are at stake, their sense of fairness and/or reasonable thinking goes out the window and whatever suits their need becomes the "right" answer

Yes, the common interest for everyone is to get a university education.  I still don't see what is fair about your proposal.  What is the fairness in asking different local students to pay different tuition?

I want my children to learn Chinese and I think it is a necessity for their future.  But why is Chinese a necessity for all Chinese HKID holders?  What is the logic behind making it a requirement?

"總為資源多的群體多開方便之門"  I think the cause and effect is reversed.  I don't think the system is designed to be more beneficial for the more resourceful families, I think those families just have better flexibility and ways to "game" the system.

Very interesting tidbits!  For B, I am not sure how representative it is though.  Did he share any thoughts on comparing the IB and JUPAS students on an overall basis?

Thank you for the sharing.  I feel bad for him.  Medical students are already the best of the bunch, I feel even worse for the other professors

I haven't followed HKU and CU closely.  What is the issue with HKU?  Please feel free to PM if better in private
