The admission briefing on 4 Sept revealed that the 1st interview dates are 8 Oct (Fri) and 9 Oct (Sat).

Is the exact interview dates mentioned during the briefing session?  I could only see it is around early October from the school website.  Thanks

Maybe some applicants were not born in HK but are entitled to resident status, so they don't have a birth cert but an HK ID card.

Many parents criticise in private about the all-inclusive 10 pages, because some kindergartens have half-yearly reports as long as 3 pages each, so K1+K2=12 pages, and you cannot squeeze the reports into 2 pages (because they will be too small to read) but 4.  Above all, they should have published the requirement in the web site so that parents of applicants have more time to plan how the documents should be arranged.

The headteacher said in the seminar that 10 pages of "information" should be submitted in the application, but she did not say whether the 10 pages are for "photocopies of certificates and awards" only or are all inclusive.  I believe many parents called the school's office shortly afterwards to clarify - I tried to call them all morning yesterday but their lines were busy; I could only reach them in the afternoon.

Although the difference in application form is noticeable, I don't think it makes as much difference as many people think.  There are many more things the headteacher and other interviewers would care than whether the form is original or downloaded.

As for their practice of releasing information only at the briefing, it seems that they have had that practice for years.  The briefing arrangements were not very desirable either - e.g. the first session started at 9:30 am but the first in line arrived at 7 am just for a seat in the hall; they did not have TV relays of the seminar in classrooms when the hall had been filled.   Online registration can be easily set up in a web site and it will save parents' time in lining up so early on the day of the briefing or even prevent parents from being disappointed by a full house.

I have no idea why the school keeps the information so secretive to those who do not attend the briefing.

My wife does not like this school at all, so it will be one of our lowest priorities even if my son is accepted by DBSPD.  I can understand how she feels.
