北區約有3000人升中一，大埔區2000人。

band 3 想報直資，可考慮大埔三育。

係呀,我聽心記講,係要用津貼報名方式報,唔係用直資方式報,所以會霸咗一個位.知唔知粉嶺的中一學位,係唔係比大埔少,入學額比較緊張.照咱睇,心記入選的機會係咪很低.
有邊D係適合band3頭的學校?

我剛剛問過,三育同心記一樣,都是要填自行收生.
其實三育校風怎樣?

除咗能提供比一些 Band 2 尾至 Band 3 頭嘅學生用英語授課, 睇唔到有其他好處。

我自已就覺得聖芳濟各始終係天主教學校, 聽聞都有D學生都比心機讀書, 而且校風都唔會太離譜, 博少少可以

1st choice : 救恩 (就嚟跌到Band 3)
2nd choice : 心誠中學 或 聖芳濟各書院

其他選擇 : 鳳溪第一中學

Read in newspaper this morning that North District will cut class.  Does this mean that there will be MORE band 1 students going to band 2 schools ?  
Is there a change of strategy to placing the schools now ?

一般小朋友成績欠佳, 大多專注力低, 欠自律和學習上被動。如果跨區上課, 舟車勞頓更加會害死佢, 黄台之瓜, 何堪再摘！ 再加上, 北區和大埔嘅 Band 2 , Band 3中學裏面 我又睇唔出在校風和學業上有何差別, 亦唔見得邊一區會容易入讀D, 我勸你留番喺大埔算喇 !

至於自行收生, 如果比較進取就

1st choice : Band 2  中華聖潔會靈風中學

2nd choice : Band 3頭: 鄉議局大中學 或 郭何佩珍

如果要穩陣就 在 2nd choice 以上兩所中學揀 1st 及 2nd

Your assumption is correct.  You may consider to make  one choice either in Tai Po or Shatin District in Discretionary Place, or else there is no better alternative for this issue.

Do you have any information whether Shatin district will cut down classes ?  At this moment, I know North District and Taipo have decided to cut classes.

The Band 1 place for P.6 students either in Tai Po or Shatin is still loosen in comparison to tight successful ratio in North District.

Thanks for your info and your fast reply.  The cutting class thing really gets into the nerves of most parents.
ND should have more band 1 schools as our children have been showing quite outstanding results lately.

現在北區中學縮班, 那在自行選校方面, 應要維持"進取"還是"保守"呢?亞仔就想甲寅同李嘉誠, 而我就認為甲寅同田家炳穩陣些, 但他的班主任同我講點解唔睇高一線, 田家炳很有可能在第一輪已收咗我個仔, 但我担心以甲寅同李嘉誠的面試準則, 又怕會兩間都沒有得面試, 所以很煩惱.

首先你小朋友校內名次係點 ? 如果唔係全級頭十名, 在自行收生中, 甲寅唔會收你。 Band 1 學額少了180個, 競爭大咗, 無得太進取, 你囝囝是成績OK的話, 就1st choice 係一定甲寅, 田家炳在第二志願, 今年縮班大局已成。

無幫助, 叩門一定要考筆試, 重困難過自行收生, 一切以成績為先, 因為叩門位(大多留班位)得 2-5個之間, 但可能有幾十人甚至上百人申請, 淨計競爭比例的確困難過自行收生階段。
