Apart from SPCC, I think most of the parents here will be happy if their kids can join QC, KC, WY(HK), SPC too haha :)

If that's the case, then my suggestion to you is to spend time to understand the differences among these schools.

Personally I don't agree to chase after popular choices, although that's not a wrong thing to do.

The biggest difficulty will be Chinese.  Even many children from local kindergartens would have issues with Chinese for the traditional primary schools.  So you can imagine the difficulty the children may face as they switch from international stream which spent little time on writing Chinese.

Of course, this can be overcome.  You just need to be aware of it.

The question is, if the target is local stream, why begin with international stream?

Just realize that this thread has marked its 2-years anniversary yesterday.  Through these years, thank you very much for all the questions and sharing that we have done through this platform.

As some of you may notice, I have begun to write for a local magazine, and my first article has just been released this week.

The first topic is similar to this thread and it happens to be published on the anniversary date of this thread too!

Found the information you provided very useful.  Could you give me some advice pls? My daughter is currently 2.5 yrs.  I am now busy in applying K1 for her and is targeting one dragon schools.  Do you have any recommedation?  I still have a 7 mths old boy.  It would be good if she can get into a co-ed school and hopefully have advantage for the little brother, but it seems that there will be limited choice.  I don't care whether it will be in Kowloon, Island or NT coz we can mover if they both gets into the same school.  Any advice.

HI Fatta,

Frankly, the choices of these one-dragon kindergartens are so limited, my advice is you should take some time to understand them first.

Ideally for your case, I guess you should look for some of them which have co-ed private primary schools so hopefully your son, if lucky to be accepted by the same kindergarten, can so be benefited.

The trouble is, not many one-dragon kindergartens would have heavy preferences given to the younger siblings while also fit the above criteria.

My personal recommendation is True Light, but must aware even though there primary school is co-ed, but the number of boys are very low.

Do you have any comment on Creative Primary School's Kindergarten?  Is it a good one dragon K for small son to study in?

I have little knowledge of their kindergarten too but I know their primary school is a IB candidate school.  So, you will need to consider if you would prefer to choose non-local curriculum for their primary study.
