If you can choose, you prefer CCKG or St Catherine(K2)?

So is your kid accepted by both schools?

If I had the choice, I'd prefer CCKG.  Just my personal opinion.  I like small schools because I think the people are closer and hopefully the children will be looked after better.  Also CCKG is set up by the Church and so that means it's there not because of money.  Also it's fees are lower.  I must admit that there are lots of good comments about St. Catherine's and lots of graduates there can go to some name schools but considering the no. of graduates there are from St. Catherine's, I'm not surprised that there has to be some got admitted to parents' dream schools.  I got friends, relatives and colleagues who sent their kids to St. Catherine's and they got admitted to DGJS, Maryknoll, etc.  I suppose it's a good school too.

The school fee for CCKG this year is ~$2700/month,  and no extra fee needed. Children should prepare their snacks themselves everyday.

Dear Hart,

My kid is not accepted by both schools. I really hope that my kid will be so lucky.  I'm just interested in how parents evaluate these two reputable schools. In CCKG, there isn't any phonics, computer or putonghau class. However, I know that a lot of parents transfer their kids to CCKG in K2. So, I think that it must have some superior merits. Anyway, thanks so much for your valuable opinion!

Hi Lamlama,
"it must have some superior merits", as per my opinion, it is the english environment in CCKG. I remembered my son's class teacher said in the parents' day: Teacher will ask children to use english (between teacher to children or children to children). This is why your parents sent you here in CCKG.

We just had the sport day last Friday.  It has lots of funs and there was a section to be competed by parents.  My kid loved it very much.  Have you joined it, Rachet Hew

Thanks! I agree with you. English environment is very important for learning English. However, it's not easy to find such environment in HK school other than international school. May be that's the main reason why CCKG is the parents' dream school.

Dear CCKG parents

I know that the 05-06 K2 admission result will be announced on 24 Mar (as stated in the interview letter), I wish to know that what kinds of documents will be included in the CCKG notification letter. Will all applicants receive the offer letters or the reject letters on the same day?

I recall if accepted CCKG will send you a letter stating that they are offering a place for your kid.  You need to send a reply letter to indicate whether you accept the offer or not.  If rejected, CCKG will also send you a letter stating the same but I am not really sure about its content.

Alivnivy is right.  I have also called CCKG to ensure that they received my confirmation letter.

Dear CCKG parents,

I wish to apply for CCKG K2 class in Sept 06 for my son.  He is now accepted by St. Catherine, Alliance and Kent (K1 class) in Sept 05 but I haven't decided yet.  Would CCKG parents please share with us which kindergarten graduates will have more chances to be accepted by the CCKG?

I've got the letter too, my son has successfully got a place in CCKG! ... very happy!!

My son is now studying at SC K1!
