求救!油天插班入沙田培僑,請給意見!

      小兒現就讀油麻地天主教小學二年級，學校很好，校風純樸，紀律嚴明，而小兒成績也不錯，舊年一年級全班考第三(但大家也谷得很辛苦，經常很遲才能入睡)。
      兒子性格好動活潑，不大願意接受傳統學校之紀律約束，且功課繁多，每週中英默書，他總是很難坐定定溫習。
      現想替小兒轉換學習環境，希望他能開心、在沒有壓力下學習，固考慮沙田培僑，素聞校風傾向國際學校，而且沒有考試，更是一條龍辦學，免除將來升中煩惱，煩請各方高人提供意見以作參考!謝謝!

但你小朋友都跟得上油天的功課wor.......間學校咁好你會唔會後悔呀........講真油天跟培僑真的是兩極端的學校......我想你一定要好好考慮呀!!!

總算叫跟得上，但很辛苦，精神壓力很大，才第一年，諗諗還有五年"捱"，心裡有多少步!
記得當初小兒是讀國際幼稚園的,那時沒有功課、沒有考試、沒有壓力，但也能學到東西: ，只是投考多間直資小學也落選(陳守仁、男小拔，蔡繼有 )，固只好一心等待大抽獎，最後幸運地派了入油天。
當然，我也知道油天是間Band 1學校，所以便讓兒子嘗試，但估不到競爭這樣大。
其實家人也反對轉校，因為尚有一女兒現讀K2,即後年可自動入讀油天，真的很困擾............!
lhaha，可否告知沙田培橋是否不需考試？如沒有，將來怎升培橋中學及其他大學？有否功課？有沒有第三語言學習(如日文、法文...等)，聽朋友說好像只有中、英、數三科主科？是否屬實？

I can understand your "stress" studying at a high standard local school....my eldest son was in one in Shatin and the 5 years we had were really crazy.  He didn't come as high results in the school but luckily he kept his English alright and we finally put him into an IS.

We originally thought of letting no.2 son follow this footstep into the local school (since brother is studying there) but we finally gave up after we got into Pui Kiu.  He has just started with PKC and so far he's enjoying so much.  Really homework is a bit loose and I think the spirit of learning isn't on homework.  I particularly like their emphasis on reading because one of my strengths of my elder son is he reads extensively.

Actually yet to see how the school teaching spirits are implemented, but that's what we like about the school, the principal and the teachers.  We gave up the local band 1 school because we do not want to go through the same struggle.  But that's also because my son couldn't present himself fully at school and was "prohibited" with his curiosity and creativity.  If you son is doing that well at "Yau Tin" it does sound like he can adapt and will do well.

Really difficult situation but perhaps you can also wait and see a little more? Afterall finding a school most suitable for your kid is critical.  We also considered getting a school that suits our (as parents) style too!

其實做父母既我,都經歷過田鴨式教育,果種苦況最為清楚,為考試而讀書,晚晚開夜車,狂背書,狂默書,細路辛苦時大人亦承受很大壓力.以前就話唔興國際學校,亦無直資,但而家唔同,多左好多選擇,所以有得揀想揀條無咁辛苦既路俾個仔行.
真係好難決擇,如果個仔在油天成績唔掂,一早就轉左.
且仲有個妹妹,如果哥哥轉,妹妹梗係一齊啦.
或者睇埋哥哥上學期先再決定!

我想你要想清楚你希望小朋友要如何成長，需要有實質的(如成績，名次等)或是開心學習。因培僑是沒有太多功課、測驗，每年只有一個考試。中文程度比local還要深，數學跟local差不多，英文比較淺(要求小朋友多看書，功課多在學校完成)。還有中文和數學是普通話教學,所以如要插班需要有好的普通話程度。紀律比較鬆，校長希望小朋友自律。小息時可在操場追、跑、跳，但嚴禁在走廊和樓梯跑。下午課程是體藝科，音樂、美術、體育和成長課。大部份的小朋友很享受返學，我的小朋友最大的懲罰就是不準返學。:

對，只有中、英、數三科。至於有關的其他科目會在中、英、數三科內兼教。據我所知應該是所有小學生原校直升上培橋中學的。

昨天15-9-07去了培橋的簡介會,聽完校長的介紹,很認同他的理念.而且校園環境不錯,所以我會替兒子遞表試試!

Me too!  We heard about this school a while ago before we were to apply....then we learnt about all these DSS hot waves and started to look around.  We were very focused so applied for only 2....actually was giving up a band 1 local school.

We went for the briefing session and seriously thought about applying.  We went through the interviews and became very keen to get accepted....got accepted and made the decision!  My son is very keen with school now.  He's picking up the pin-yin and is speaking English alot.  Not much homework, or maybe the teachers are not pushing hard yet, but at least even very tiring each day, he enjoys it so much!!!

你們好...我有三個孩子...現在要prepare for application of P1... coz 自己係填鴨教育的product and I don't want my kids to follow this path... (always 測驗+考試+assessments...prohibition of curiosity + creativity)... plus the most harmful thing is to kill the parent-kid relationship.... 所以我和先生一心想報DSS...since PKC is very close to our home...so it is one of our most favourite choices...

I would like to ask :

1. what subjects do PKC teach???
2. What's the medium of language(s) used during the lessons?
Putonghua + English?  or Putonghua + English +Cantonese?
3. 會唔會好難入???
4. 校風? 老師質數???
5. 有冇話佢會like邊d幼稚園 like SC/KV???

中文和英文是世界上最多人用的語言, 但要兩者皆好, 實在不容易, 要孩子學得好, 可能要以不鬆不緊的態度, 多鼓勵少壓迫.
