As I were you, I will take St. Jo.  Your son may be study in St. Jo primary school which is 津貼 for 6 years.

In the other hand, if you want your son has good in mandarin, of course, keep your existing kinder la.

FYI, I am glad that my son's name put on today's result list.  Thanks god

Hello,

My son also gets seat at St. Joe for the coming school term.  I learnt from the school that they teach Chinese Maths instead of English Maths and there are no native english teacher in school.  I wonder why the school fee is that expensive, higher than those non-profit making kinders.  May I know does the fee including misc. fee?  We only pay $27,620/per annum?  This is my concern before deciding to change his school or not.  Anybody knows or please comment that?

Apart from monthly sch. fee, u need to pay $1000+ as misc. expenses (Including snack, art & crafts..) for each term. Hope the information can help :

No Native english teacher! Are you right?
In the coming school term, the school fee is so expensive as to compare the other school that the fee to have deduct 學劵
If they're not to guarantee all the student can be go to P1 directly,so why we choose this school.
I think if they can charge such fee, they have confidence the parent will consider St jo is 1st choose as the school has a power to guarantee all the student can be go to P1.
Just they don't want to expose the fact of " guarantee all the student go to P1 directly"

Thanks for your reply.

I dialed to St. Joe some times ago and got the answer that there were no NET for the Kinder.  Except English lesson, all subjects will be conducted in Chinese/Cantonese.

The school fee itself is higher even hasn't counted the voucher.  Anyway, if this school is good, I don't mind I could use the voucher or not.  Looking ahead of my son's prospect is more important than saving certain amount to my pocket.  Right?!

Glad to see this topic here.  My son also got an offer from St. Jo.  I called to school this morning, and found out the following information.  Hope it is useful to you:

1.  the ratio of teacher to student is 2-to-20 each class.
2.  about 90% of the Kindergarten students get into St. Jo primary school directly (she just quote it from last year results).  
3.  the primary school will become full-day school for our sons' P1.

I think it is worth to go!  My only concern is whether St. Jo is a very "difficult" school in terms of syllabus, and school expectations, for my son is a "small child".

今年投考St Jo Kinder之人數有大約300個, 取錄80人約1/4機會率, 不過我亦有同感Kinder的程度如何, 可能程度不能函接到小學的程度, 你們的小朋友是否今年就讀K1或是想K2重讀?

你有否研究過張派彩list, 睇過D考生編號你會估計到, 因面試當日只在課室等一陣就in勒, 比較其他名校, 要在操場排隊或坐在大禮堂等番大約一個鐘至有得in的人數有所不同。

我覺得作為家長自己小朋友到達甚麼程度是估計倒的, 我擔心我的兒子會轉校後因程度淺而懶散, 但如果你認為該校的程度與你兒子現讀的學校差不多, 不須考慮只是在另一間繼續升班又不是留班。

我聽聞St Jo Kinder的K2是返上午而K3返下午, K2時的問題不大, 但K3就好大問題, 因現在我兒子放學後之課外活動很密的, 有溜冰、英文班及彈琴, K3時候全部都夾不到時間, 很多課外活動都是下午開門, 仲有將佢平時早睡早起的生理時鐘弄轉, 第日升小一仲返全日咪唔惦。
