School Fee Adjustment

Just got a notice about new school fee in 08/09.  G5/G6/G7 would be HK2980 per month.  It sounds that is one of most expensive primary school in HK.   It is tough life.

冇人想加學費, 但係而家乜都加價, 食開果個早餐 A 都加左2 蚊; 公務員又加人工, 咁老師 D 人工都要跟住加; 學費增加, 在所難免。

今日報紙都有報導,  有 30 家直資學校要加學費,  有 D  仲加十幾 % 潻;  冇辨法啦,  優才既加幅,  算係温和喇。

係啦！今年四圍都加好多價，老公公司附近餐室今年加左２次！

請問優才上次加價是幾時?  (其實我想問幾多年會加一次價?)

- 漢基  ( 11,960 )
- 耀中  ( 12,850 )

私立小學

- ISF  ( 11,900 )
- Victoria  ( 7,100 )
- 啟思  ( 5,900 )

直資小學

- St Stephen's  ( 5,000 )
- 聖保羅男女  ( 4,800 )
- DBS    ( 3,800 )


以上係 07 / 08 學費, 下學年全部再加 5 - 10 %。

I don't think we should compare the fee with international school or private school that would be different situation with less support from the government but it sounds the fee can close to DBS now.  If I am not wrong, it was the second year to increase the school fee. I just worry that would be trend and it is going to be happened in next few years.

DBS 都會加學費, 一定過四字頭。

其實全港有近 20 間直資小學, 學費大概分三级 :

1)  幾佰至千幾 :
     - 陳守仁, 播道, 港大同學會, Pegasus ....
2)  二千起至三千樓下 :
    - 優才, 眞道, St Margaret, 培僑 ,,,,
3)  三千幾至五千 :
    - 浸大附小, DBS, 聖保羅男女, 聖保羅 ,,,,

優才學費算係中遊份子。

但係有幾 點, 值得留意 :

1)  優才係小班教學, 一班最多 24 個學生; 其他直資小學, 一班最少 30 人, 有 D 多到 35 人都有。

簡單算術, 如果優才都係 30 - 35 人一班, 學費最少可以減 1/3。

2)  優才有 8 個外藉老師, 就算佢地人公同本地老師一樣, 都要額外比房屋津貼佢地, 有D仲要比埋來回机票潻。

以一個 NET 每個月多 1 萬蚊計 ( 一定唔止 ), 八個就 8 萬, 優才大约有 800 學生, 咁平均每個學生就要比 多100 蚊出黎先得。

3)  優才每週有兩個才華班, 係免費既; 其實大部份才華班既導師係外聘既, 學校係要比錢佢地既。

外邊活動收費大约 100 到 150 蚊一個鐘, 才華班每月有 8 個鐘, 就算用 40 蚊一個鐘計, 都要成 300 蚊一個學生。

4)  個別學生被挑選出黎, 參加課後資優班、IEP咁, 都係唔洗比錢既。

計吓計吓, 眞係覺得我而家比緊 二千幾蚊學費, 有 D 物超所值既感覺,  嘻嘻○ ::" />lol::" />lol

其實我都有八掛計下學校賺緊幾多錢, 不過個結果係無錢賺, 因為小班教學, 師生比例低, 可能要蝕添, 以商業角度來睇, 千萬唔好開優才, 抓Taxi好過.  可以留得低係度繼續經營優才的, 一定係d非常有愛心, 對教育很有抱負, 有熱情的人.

記得3年前李教授曾經講過，優才長期有一班有心人背後支持住學校, 呢班人每年都會捐一筆錢比學校, 而其中有一位醫生(唔記得咩名), 佢每年都會捐50萬比學校(實數我唔知有無記錯?).

所以優才到左今時今日，都堅持小班教學，同每班最多只收24位學生，實在有懶呢班有心人既支持!

富士高(927)其實係OK既. 佢係做mp3 同耳機仲有做XBox360 head phone.

呢隻野我睇了大半年. 比基金洗腸由3個幾跌到1.9. 公司正正經經. 不過廠佬呢兩年無運行.要由OEM 轉OBM 先至有得諗.

富士高老闆係優才校董. 所以有閒錢都會做佢地股東.

老子教我地, 先事後得. 過兩年會考就知D人得唔得.

I just did a rough estimation. 12 years can easily reach half million just for his school fee only.  That is a big investment. Not sure that is right or wrong decision. Anyway, it is point of no return.  It would not be good timing to think too much now.

If I am not wrong, GT school is managed by a non-profitable charty organization.  It would not be an issue on profit making concern as private organization.

But I just worry on the secondary section.  It is a new school and just got around 9 classes but they got top class teachers from HK such as retired headmaster. Their package would be high. Also, the school plan for IE course.  I just worry how the secondary section can get balance.  For 8 NET, I am not sure how much effort they spend on primary section now. Secondary section should have priority to draw resource from school.

Lastly, I remember the school planed to get tens millions donation for secondary section in 3/4 years time but they only got few millions last year.  It is big gap.  I hope  they don't need our pocket money to support it.

冇錯, 優才係非牟利團体, 目的唔係賺錢; 但係如果入不敷支, 咁邊個填條數  ???

優才背後有好多人默默支持, 不斷咁捐錢, 學校先至捱過創校期, 發展至今日既規模。

我唸我地應該多 D 唸吓點樣幫助優才發展落去, 完成 G1 至 G12 既課程。
