請教各位bk媽咪,代友問:跑馬地聖保祿小學好不好?是不是很傳統的學校?功課多不多呢? 若比較德望與聖保祿,會選擇那間呢?謝謝!

I pick Good Hope.

Saw the followings somewhere and copied down.

2004 average no. of A in HKCEE:

St. Paul's :0.55A
Good Hope : 0.77A

Dear samuellor and Bo Bo cute,

My friend's daughter has been accepted by Good Hope.  They satisfy of her good academic level and a through-train Secondary school support.  However, they worry about the air pollution during the re-construction of the school buildings and they also don't like half -day school life.  Although St.Paul has the same problems of old school building and only half-day school, but she is a subsidised school and no need to pay the school fee.  So, if compare with Good Hope (the higher academic level), but need to pay over $30,000 per year.  Which one you will choose? Please advise.  Thanks

I don't know which location is better for you, so I assume both are equally convenient.

If I have only one girl, I shall pick Good Hope with no hesitation.  The school is more famous, academically more sound.

As what I observe, students from SPSS are going under a pretty hard time because the school pushes their English quite a lot. (You may expect to see a F4/5 proofreading exercise for their F2 paper)  I'm not sure why they did that...POSSIBLY, their students' results are dropping, so they want to maintain a higher standard.  (This is just my speculation, btw).

Moreover, my student told me that those who are from St. Paul's Primary actually do worse than the others who come to the secondary school.  If you think about it, the DGS girls from DGJS perform significantly better than "students from the outside," (at least in the first year) and I believe it's the same case for Good Hope/Maryknoll, etc.  Does this show you something?

Overall, SPSS is not a bad school.  The girls there are very well-behaved, but I think Good Hope is better.

What do you mean by "聖保祿有私校"? Do you mean St. Paul's Convent in  Causeway Bay?  If yes, please note that actually St. Paul's Primary and St. Paul's Convent are two different schools and they do not have direct relationship (except that they're both under the same Catholic church).

St. Paul's Primary:
- Chinese School
- Half Day
- Subsidized School, no need to pay school fee.

St. Paul's Convent :
- English School
- Full Day
- Private School, need to pay school fees.

多年前有個AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL﹐ 不知道現在還有沒有﹐還記得以前我們很羨慕他們﹐因為沒功課﹐老師只好常說多勞多得的道理。。哈哈哈

St. Paul's Convent 係一間傳統名校﹐以我所知﹐ 這所學校沒有國際部之分﹐但是佢有自己既幼兒園﹐幼稚園﹐小學和中學部。一般學生都是由幼兒園/幼稚園直升上﹐所以每年呢間幼兒園/幼稚園都好多人爭。

請問如想讀St paul convent 的幼稚園, 是不是要親身到學校拿application form? 因我在internet 找不到個websit.
請指教

Actually both St. Paul's Primary (Happy Valley) and Good Hope are famous schools with good brand. The choice of school should simply depend on its suitability for your child.
