The program is to give secondary school students who are interested in pursuing a medical or other health care an opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the profession.

In fact, my son sat UKCAT and BMAT simply because they were required by his UCAS application last year.

He added his UKCAT and BMAT scores as supplementary information for his applications for the two local medical schools.

My daughter also sat for UKCAT and BMAT in 2011 to apply for 2012 British medical schools.
She also included the score of UKCAT and BMAT in the applications to the 2 local schools.

I think it helps if your scores in those tests are within the top 10% to 20% percentile. However I think it would not hurt your chance if your scores are a bit lower so long as you can present a strong application.

The summer programme for secondary school students organised by CU and HKU are for 2 weeks.

CU charges HK$5,500 (but you can apply for reduction). HKU charges $6,500 for the Medical Summer Broadening Program
