There is usually high academic pressure in the IBDP years, no matter which school, unless the student and the parents are satisfied with the academic result of the child under no pressure learning, and are satisfied with the expected university that the child can get in with this expected academic result.
The academic pressure is usually higher in top schools, because most of the pressure comes from peers. Students don't want to get grades lower than their peers, they don't want to get into a less prestigious university than their peers.
IS students seem less accustomed to the exam oriented learning approach, and the associated pressure from the 1st pubic exam or internal mock exam that will determine their future. LS students have long been adapted to exam pressure from day 1. |
