YORK一問?

York - our interview was on 10/17 afternoon, my impression is the teachers are nice in general, the examiner is quite friendly & will try repeat or ask question in different approach. And the school environment is very nice also.

But I heard a lot of ppl said York is not nice but it is different from what I see/feel there. Pls comment.

sn: 好多人, 等咗成半個鐘, 阿仔玩到成身濕晒先去interview,要求我小朋友做好幾樣野,如用spoon畢波仔,扭螺絲,認數字等, in咗10分鐘倒就完

york:之前已聽家長會,去到員工同埋老師安排得好好,老師in我個仔既時候,引導式同佢好似傾計咁但係已經問咗佢好多野,例如叫佢踏積木,比圖問大小之分,多少之分,貓仔既尾巴,耳口响邊,之後又同我個仔劃畫,全程我都無咩問過野,我個仔好似同老師傾計咁,好舒服,問完有sticker或者糖送

兩間幼稚園比我感覺york好似好d,論學社真係又大又新又光,論interview安排york安排得好d,論老師方面,可能因為星期六in所以sn好似d老師無咁細心比較趕,相反york就好引導咁同我個仔從傾計中問到好多野.

雖然兩間幼稚園都未必收我個仔,但如果兩間都收我覺得york好少少

york: 10分鐘 - 因為家長已聽了 talk, 無需再介紹學校. interview 老師不會用太多時間去等小朋友回答, 大約問1次-2次.  家長可能需要引導一下, 方便有限時間有反應 ...

岩岩我都打左去York 到 check, 因我9月頭已經 send form 去, 但到宜家都仲未有interview 既日子, 個老師話哩緊會寄一批信出黎, 話幫我check check...我估都唔關大細b 事, 因我果個係大b , 都仲未有得in ..

而我囝禮拜6都in 左sn, 佢都要等左成個鐘先有得in, 佢玩玩下都開始悶, 仲想發脾4, 但我覺得如果叫個小朋友等成個鐘先in 好似唔係咁好..不過都冇辦法, 鬼叫今年咁多人

我上星期去左荊冤堂 in, 都等左成個鐘頭, 我同老公既感覺係, 全部家長都將 同一組鐘數, 跟住比小朋友玩, 然後一組組人輪住見.

我個仔玩左半個鐘, 基本上已經唔想玩, 要一個鐘真係好耐!

My impression on York is quite good, I hope they will give me the AM place so I don't have to attend other interview.

Btw, does anyone know if they have K2 & K3 in AM / full day class?

sorry, ching ching choy, I didn't mean that I have got the seat already but actually, I am still waiting for their confirmation. There is no guarantee. Hope it won't give you & other parents bad feeling.

I guess a lot of parents will be very happy as me if kids perform better than we expected but it doesn't mean teacher feel the same.

York is the first one we interviewed & I feel tired on interview already. I am very nervous & have to do a lot of comfort my kid before reaching the school. Therefore, if we get the seat, we may take it & try not attend others.

My daughter also attended the interview on 17/10.  She is younger one(birth:6/12/07).  This is the first interview for her and us(parent).  We both also feel little bit nervous and no experience.  Actually, i haven't any preparation for her.  Her performance is not so good but the teacher is patient to ask her question and draw her attention.  After the first task, she went away and said she need to go out.  Luckily, she haven't crying and then teacher give her apple.  Then, she come back again.  She only can answer 50% correct question.  We will know the result within two weeks.

DID ANY OTHER PARENTS THEY CAN SHARE THEIR COMMENTS ABOUT THE SCHOOL ESPECIALLY THE DETAILS OF THE CONTENT IN INTERVIEW.

MY SON FINISHED THE INTERVIEW IN SN, ACTUALLY, WE WAITED FOR A QUITE LONG TIME AS LAST SAT. WAS QUITE HOT.

Here is my kid's York interview content, hope it helps :

1. Two dolls (one boy & one girl), ask the kid who is with the same gender with the kid

2. Put up the wooden blocks

3. A pic with apple, car & Aeroplane, teacher asks what to eat if hungry. What is it, in what color. What is the name of the other two (car & aeroplane)

4. What will you go in leisure time.

5. A family pic with Mum, dad, boy & gal - point out who is mum & who is dad

6. Big & small comparison : a CATS picture. 2 small & 2 big cats - point out which is big

7. Drawing & Coloring - give the kid a box of crayons, let the kid picks one, ask the kid the color & draw a circle, then, pick another color to color the circle & name the color.

8. let the kid choose a gift - sticker or candy, expect kid to say thankyou

9 say goodbye.

IT SEEMS QUITE DIFFICULT FOR MY KID ESPECIALLY DRAW A CIRCLE.
HOW ABOUT YOUR KID,  IS HE/SHE CAN FINISH ALL?

My kid was in a good mood on that day, she was able to answer all questions except for the first question, she answered in a soft tone. And for the second question, she didn't want to put on the last block but want to keep it in her jacket & bring back home!!!

I hope (wish) we can get the place since I like the school quite much after sight-visit. Quite different from my original imagination. The only concern is I never hear ppl talk about the P1 allocation, so not sure if it is good or not.
