Okay. Other than two of my friends, my hubby's boss and all his friends 's child fail to get an offer of interview. They may not be from very reputable university but definitely not bad, and they are rich. They concluded the school is looking for those parents' graduated from very top u like ivy league or Oxbridge and works with BIG company. They also prefer the mandarin speakers. Well, i have a friend who knows one of their governors, hopefully to figure out what it is all about. But we cannot deny, we hkgers are losing preference over the mainlanders who are very rich with connections and background in competing in famous IS, and even some LS.

"the school is looking for those parents' graduated from very top u like ivy league or Oxbridge and works with BIG company" - From the application form, CIS does not ask questions on this.  It is a bit surprise how possible they got information on this aspect.  

"i have a friend who knows one of their governors, hopefully to figure out what it is all about."  I am not sure if their governor is going to tell the truth especially this relates to some kind of unfair treatment.  At least, they will "maintain" fair or "maintain" to be seemed to be fair, even it is no secret that more rich and famous mainalnders are sending their kids to elite LS and IS in HK.

Agree with you CIS is getting best out of best applicants, extremely hard to get in.  Any successful cases to share?

My friends' girl classmate got the interview offer where my friend didn't. One of my hubby's friend got also and they fill in the form in Chinese. I knew a few got the offer of spot last year. But the new game has just started, their reference may not be applicable.

excellent how you train your BB speaks fluently the two languages? Is he from local kg?

Think they r looking for native mandarin speaker with good eng or vice versa. Those in hk local with Cantonese as main language maybe disadvantaged

I got an interview offer too, as well as my friend. We are both local hkers and we are not very rich, just middle class. We two couples, 4 of us, out of 3 are graduated from local universities, including HKU, CU and Poly, only my hub is graduated from a top U in Australia (not Ivy League, not Oxbridge!). My hub works for big company but my friends both are not working for big company, but they are senior. Me, I am only a housewife! Plus, we have no connection!

Ur kids speak eng and mandarin or Cantonese?

My friend's kid fluent in Cantonese, but he can also speak Eng and Mandarin, but my kid only fluent in Eng, can listen Cantonese, but not willing to speak, for Mandarin, he is a beginner, can listen a bit, count 1-10 only.

My friends 'girl only speak mandarin and English does not have offer.

My kid got the offer last year, but she speaks only English.
I know two more kids got offer last year who have very very little knowledge of Mandarin, but speak good English. So Mandarin is not really necessary as long as kid have one strong language!

Are you referring to that 8 pages questionnaire? According to my cousin, fill out of parents' primary to university and the company they work with is needed.

yes, lui, you are right, the 8 pages questionnaire needs parents to tell those infromation, from primary to unsiversity, and also tell about their job and company.

I'm sorry but may I know where to get the questionaire? I just sumbit the application form as well as $2000 for 2014 reception year. But from there webpage, I can only find the application form but no questionaire.

Regarding the introduction meeting, they suggest we does not need to join it until 2013 sept.

you can't find the questionaire since they will give you when they process your application, so you may get it around Oct next year.

You wont get the questionnaire until you attend their information session. They will inform you next year.

May I know if they interview the kids only or both parent n kids? From their website, it says there will be a parent meeting, would that be arrange after the interview? Thanx.
