It seems the Chan Ping Kee's shop in Mongkok only opens for very limited period only.  It is not a permanent outlet.
You better call their phone number at 24574898 to re-confirm it.

I bought a windbreaker  from 陳炳記  in the early of this year and found that two grey inner layer peices were very smelly.  But the service of the shop keeper in Mongkok is good. It would be better for you to ring him up for the size before you go.

Will you let your piglet join 60th HK schools speech festival this year? My son wants to join english solo this year. I'll let him have a try.

I saw your daughter on 11/9 when I joined the musical instruments demonstration show. SHe is tall with white skin. She was talking to my daughter when I saw them.

My daughter said Oscar is one of her good new friend. I feel good to hear that as my daughter had no old schoolmates in her class and I worry that she would feel lonely.

lee排涼左bor,買左風褸未,我lee個阿媽就今日先去買~~極遲!!好彩打過去話齊碼~~唔知幾時轉冬季呢??11月阿女仲有2堂swimming要上,好驚佢凍親呢!!!
12月頭又考試啦,小學生活果然好緊迫呢~~
每日放工返去食飯,睇佢d功課,沖埋涼就要捉訓覺~~d時間好唔夠用呢,中文的每日一篇都冇點做呢~~
你地又點呀,講下近況啦~~

Can wear either summer winter uniform from today onwards.
MUST wear winter uniform from Jan 2009.
Pls see circular issued last Fri (on school's website.  not sure if it is in e-class as well.)

If you find that the temperature on the day of the swimming lesson is around or below 18oC, and if you don't want your kid to catch cold, can write (in assignment book) to PE teacher and say you would like your kid to take PE instead of swimming.

I focused on the dates only, have not read other contents yet.  Piglet has too much fat, so is not afraid of the cold.  He only wore the grey (cotton) cardigan to school yesterday morning and took it off by the end of the day.  This morning it was slightly cooler and he wore the long-sleeved grey fleece on summer uniform.

Seems the P.1 parents are very busy and so not much news recently.
1. Uniform
I have my son changed to Winter PE uniform. Not yet for the regular one as I only bought 1 pair of grey socks. $30 from the "Gold Ocean" where we bought the school uniform. Seems to me a little bit expensive and not sure the quality (the "elasticity"). I think I may go to "Garden Street" to find again. Any recommendation from the parents to find a good quality socks but relatively good price?  
2. Swimming lesson
I thought that there is no more swimming lesson in the PE lesson (for boy). You may check. But my son still have 3 lessons (including today) due to the interest class.
3. Daily life
Very busy for my kid after the school as his speed on doing homework is extremely slow. Last week, he could spend 3 hours for doing homework (like embroidery but doesn't mean good quality). This week, we set a target if he can finish all the homework by 9:00p.m., he can get a sticker/star and seems that with the target, he is improving on the speed. Need to train my kid on time management.
4. Exam pressure
Feel it very much after receiving the notice on last Fri., especially on Chinese as it seems that he learnt a lot of things in less than 3 months time...
BTW, any parent has the idea on "English project" during the exam? What kind of preparation we could help the kid???

re : English Project

The Engl teacher will hand out a sheet with details on what is needed.  You must go through it with your kid and try and do a dummy at home first.  May need to bring some photos or pictures, and need glue + scissors + colours + maybe decorative material like fancy paper cos they need to design a cover for the Engl Project too.  Takes 2 sessons of exam time (i.e. 1 morning, with recess in between).

The kids are expected to know the names of each item and where it belongs to, e.g. bath tub ==> in the bathroom, so stick it in the bathroom area and write "bath tub" under it.

The last week in which boys attend swimming instead of PE is the week of 17 - 21 Nov; for girls it is the week of 24 - 28 Nov.

I think the best way is to make a timetable for your child to follow strictly after school everyday.
Your child needs to finish homework from when to when and have a little bit of leisure time from when to when ................... and so on.
You have to persuade your child to stick to that timetable by giving your reward scheme (if it works) and don't compromise with your child too much at the beginning.
Once the system is set up and working properly, your life will be much much easier!!

Yes, you're right and I'm sorry that I misread it. Also, thanks for the advice on the English project.

Principle,
I think you're right. We should not compromise too much and sometimes I'm too loose on following the timetable.
