I just give it a try, actually his cantonese is not good either. Preston is not joining any playgroup now, he is joining individual training at Heep Hong only (for ~1/2 yr). the teacher said he is doing very well(coz it's one-to-one), so next year will try small group training. Maybe I'll wait till he's 3 years old, then there are more suitable playgroups for him. Don't want to waste $ and time again.

Thank you. Actually Preston is very talkative and naughty at home, totally different from school. Maybe he knows you coz he sees u everyday taking ho-lim to school.
How's ho-lim, he enjoys school now?

What a coincidence!  Yesterday, I brought Brian to have assessment in Heep Hong.  They suggested pre-school training for Brian on his social skills and concentration.  At what centre does Preston attend?  For me, I have to wait until they call me for the centre available and time.

Preston has been attending the training for more than 1/2 yr, is really good, he is doing very well with individual session now. They have toys for him to bring home every time, no need to buy new toys, haha. Preston goes to Fu Cheung centre at Shamshuipo, every other Sat. but next year will change to samll group class to train his soical skills. Actually, we did not wait for too long, maybe a couple months. Hopefully, Brian can start soon.

It's good to live with your parents in the way that you don't have to worry about your son.

I do not live in Laguna Verde.  I do live with my in-laws.  I also don't have to worry about my son during daytime.  Yet, I do have many different values with them in daily care & education.  You're lucky as you can tell your parents what to do & what not to do.  I cannot do so.

Heep Hong called me yesterday.  The two centres that are close to me are Fu Cheong and Olympian City.  However, I have to wait as those time slots that I am available have been full.

Actually, my parents also have their own values on how to take care of my kid.  I let them take care of my kid in their own way as I know they will be unhappy if I give opinion.

My kid knows the two different sets of values and he will take advantage of it sometimes.  However, I think it's still acceptable and I don't want to change it.

Good to hear that Heep Hong called u so quickly, fu cheong is a good centre, Preston likes to go every time.
What is Brian doing at home this week? I think they are so bored at home so my maid takes him to the clubhouse every morning.

It's glad to know that you can tolerate different values.  I do give in if the issue is not a big deal.  Yet, every bits & pieces will be accumulated & ends up a negative feeling toward in-laws.  I can still tolerate but not sure when big problem will occur.  They are not my own mother & father after all.

Does your son miss school this week ?

Hi Lydia,

Oh, It's just that Heep Hong called me to remind me to send the application form for pre-school training.  They said assessment and training are separate and they would not transfer the case for me.

Brian was so bored at home.  My parents would bring him out for breakfast and shopping in supermarket in the morning.  He always told my mother that he wanted to go to school.  I just wonder whether he will cry again next Monday.

Conflicts appeared often when my son was just born.  However, I always reminded myself that my parents sacrificed their time to take care of my son, so I have to respect them more.

Of course, talking to parents will be different from talking to in-laws.

Yes, my son misses school so much and he always asked for going to school.  How about your kid?

my son does love going to school.  yet, strange enough, my son went to school yesterday & refused to join the morning exercise session.  he cried fiercely when i left him.  i also observe that some other kids also cried this morning.

One kid who also cried is my son.  Ha!  They have been missing school for 9 days and it's not surprising that some kids couldn't cope with it.

Did your son behave better today?

better but still did not want to join the exercise session & cried for 1 minute.  today's situation was better & did not cry but still did not want to join the exercise session & stayed in the classroom. i left & the helper (maid) led him to the toilet & he was fine then.

unfortunately, holiday will start again tomorrow.

any activity plan for your son during holiday ?  have u been to the disneyland.

i've visited the park last week & stayed in the hotel for a night.  my son enjoyed it a lot.

Kids may need time to be adapted to school life again after holiday.

I will be busy during the Christmas holiday and will not have much time to go out with Brian.  However, I will bring my son to Ocean Park this weekend.

I plan to go to Ocean park as well, hope it won't be too crowded. What is Brian doing at home during holiday? I prefer going to school rather than stay home and do nothing.

Brian felt bored at home.  I tried to make him busy by asking him to do housework with me.

Heep Hong called me again.  They told me that Brian has to wait for at least 4 months before they are available.  So, I think I will find another playgroup for him first.

Happy New Year! What kind of playgroup will Brian join, better find something he's interested in so he can enjoy it. I let Preston join Heep Hong playgroup in Jan, hope he likes it this time.
