Best International School (Bilingual program)

My son got an offer at the Canadian International (CDNIS), HKIS, GSIS, ESF and SIS. He can speak fluent Mandarin and English.

I want to send him to CDNIS as they seems to have a very well balanced program of both Mandarin and English. SIS seems too strict and too many SE Asian nationality. I want him to grow up in a multiple nationality enviornment. The ESF Kindergarten seems to have over 95% local students and they hate to speak cantonese to each other. GSIS has excellent academic results but either me or my husband are German or Swiss, so its not an option.

if anyone heard or have view on these view schools esp the CDNIS would be much highly appreciated. Thank you!

ESF??

I would suggest you not to take ESF because I can see
my friends, their kids classmates are exactly more than
90% Chinese/local students!!!

As I know that all government servants like to put their
kids to ESF because government give $3,000 for EACH of their kids as monthly school fee, therefore ESF are most
welcome "government kids" even the kids and their
parents English standard are not good!!

I didnt see the kids "love" to speak English and fluently!!

Today's ESF is different!

初初睇到你的 topic title，以為你係問緊耀中或維多利亞。
有中文學，唔等於間學校就係 bilingual，你講的咁多間，其實冇一間係 bilingual 的。

你一方面又唔鍾意學校有好多本地人，但一方面又怕孩子唔講廣東話，好矛盾喎。如果學校多 "鬼仔" ，會唔會講廣東話的機會更少？

ESF 幼稚園我唔清楚，不過 ESF 中小學冇可能有 95% 本地學生咁多。

人地有 allowance ，都唔一定入 esf，好多都比小朋友讀 dss 或私校。
而在學校立場，總之家長個個月交學費就得啦，點會特別要收公務員子女？
我亦唔覺 esf 特別多家長係公務員。
睇你 message，又 bold 又感嘆號，好似好激動，對 esf 好不滿，點解咁嬲呀？

Which ESF school you are talking about? Is it Shatin College? My children study in ESF schools (both primary and high school). I can see only about 30-40% are Chinese in their classes.

My son is studying in SJS P3; he can speak very fluent English and Cantonese. When he finds someone who cannot understand English very well, he uses only Cantonese to talk to him/her. His ESF friends also do the same. Maybe this is the reason why you can't see them speaking fluent English.

My son will go to QBS ESF in August. During the meeting held last month, I found there were about 30-40% local students in the Year 1 class.

1. 滬江維多利亞英文小學:

有很多很多公務員、雙語教學、學生不愛說英文、"國際文憑課程"的國際兩字常讓人以為是國際學校、用外籍班主任及外籍校長也讓人以為是國際學校、新學年學費將比英基還要貴(非常國際學校)、新校服也有濃厚的國際學校"氣質"

2. 英基不可能"雙語", 即便是RC也只會達到80%英、20%中

3. RC小一(即K3五歲)的港生較常說廣州話, 越往上唸英語溝通能力越強, 也越喜歡脫口說英語 (我想所有真正的國際學校都一樣); 一年下來, 我小孩對著我也常說英語, 我要經常提醒他.

"互相交流, 有錯請指教"

維多利亞今年小學

新生: $6200多 (好像是11個月, 因7月要上半個月的學, 8:00-
12:00)
舊生: 九五折, 約$5900多
新通告: 因政府加工資, 教師工資也要加, 故校方保留再加最多3%的權力.
每年雜費$800

ESF最貴的應該是RC:(10個月) 舊生$6250, 新生$6750(好像是, 可再網站看看) 每年雜費$200

別的ESF才$5000多

有錯請指教!
