i'm very anxious to know since i do really want my daughter to attend this school.........because i have a 3 months old son who i have to spend lots of time with (he cries alot) and my daughter seems very bored (especially she is a people's person, she loves to play with other childern her age) i hope some of the mami here can let me know the interview process so i can prepare my daughter for the interview which we've been waiting for for the past nine months.....

Hi Ma記,

No my son hasn't start N1 yet, he is going to study N1 year 2008, we have applied Victoria and KCS, but we haven't has the interview yet, so don't know which school is going to accept him. Actually, beside the English standard, I am also concern the school environment, I have visited the school, and found out that there is a steep slop near the school, when it's a haevy rainy day, it is quite dangeraous for a kid to go to shcool. Do u think so?

you dont have to worry coz you can do nothing at the moment and during the interview!

before the interview, I practice with my son the name of different parts of the body & other objects / how to speak politely...so as to make sure he is familiar with all those things that i thought might be tested...

however, during the interview, my son was not responding to teacher's questions/requests at all coz he was afraid of the "stranger" and being too shy...but he took the books and toys without following intructions from teacher...I was so desparated at that time!

At the end of the interview, the teacher let him pick one piece of fruit from several bowls with different kind of fruit. He took one and as requested by the teacher, he took another one and gave it to the child having interview in the adjacent table.

I had no hope at all that my son should have no chance be accepted by KCS after the interview, but now, he's in!

so you never know how they assess the children and what the criteria are, just let it be!

Don't worry for the KCS interview. Eventhough you prefered all the practice with your son, you never know what his response on the interview day. Just relex and do what you want to do.........e.g., read the objective cards, normal greetting (good morning, byebye). Then, just wait for the interview day come.
I also have a 7-month son to take care. So, I fully understand what's your situation. Let's the things happen, and I will pray for you. God bless you.

Don't worry about the slope at the school. You are supposed to drop the children off (and pick them up) at the back entrance on Kin Wah street. No slope there, shallow steps only.

My daughter is in N1C and although she cried piteously the first two days (when we were allowed to stay), she has been fine since. The teachers are rather calm and do seem to pay a lot more attention to the children than at other places where the teacher:student ratio is much lower. My son is in K3 and we have all been very happy with the school, although I wish the snacks were healthier.

The kids both ride the 保母車, and although there are safety belts on board, in order to save time, the driver often drives off before the belts are on, and the belts are taken off before the bus stops at school. I used to worry about this, but it is one of those things that I cannot control, other than reminding the driver what I prefer.

Unfortunately, other than the first week, I don't pick the children up from school so I miss the chance to meet the other parents. Hope we will get a chance to meet soon. Anyone going to the rhyme performance/birthday party for October?

我bb在10月和11月要面試了, 但其中兩間剛好撞期(蘇浙和迦x), 同樣是在3/11/07, 現在都唔知怎算好

I've been informed that we have an interview on Oct 20. Hopefully, everything will be fine. My son still can't say anything except mama when he is sick.

And papa when he wants papa to play with him. Pointing the shape just depends on his mood or by luck.

唉! 聼天由命.

thanks so much for the advice!!
we had the interview yesterday, thankfully, she is accepted and will start in Nov. 09

the teacher took us to the playroom in the beginning but my daugther was so occupied with the slides and the environment. She did not attend to the teacher's instruction (sitting down, answering questions, etc) but the teacher was nice and understanding enough to bring us to the office and start the interview process again. It was not as difficult as i thought it would be...

but we have another interview on Oct. 14 for the K1 application, i'm afraid she will do the same...i heard it's not as easy as the N1 interview , she only does baby talk (but she's improving)

For me, I'm not prefer half day nursery. However, my c6 likes KCS. Anyway, we would consider KCS local for K1-K3 and international for K2-K3.

Hi hi all moms,

My son also has his interview on Oct 20 at 9:30am. Quite a lots of children at the same time. So are they going to have group interview, or we have to wait one by one? Anyone has experience before?

My son is applying for N1, and he's only 17 mths now. Same as lots other boys in similar age, he still doesn't talk a lot except daddy and mommy.

Hi,

I also wants to know......anyone can help???

My son can understand both Cantonese and English. However, for some interview common topics like color and fruits, he understand English much better (b/c he play Disney World English everyday).

If the interview conducted in Mandarin, I won't worry b/c I am sure he can't respond to anything. hehehe

If the interview conducted in Cantonese, then I really have to practice with him more in the coming weeks.
