Hi Mayah,

My girl is just 3. well, I just spoken with my fd(she is a full time mums and she just to teach in yiu chung), she got 2 girls 5 and 4 years old. She told me somthing quite negative.
She told me her 5 yr old girl starts interest on science, then she took her to library and find the books she want. if my girl is too young may not have such interest, and will too difficult for youngers. And waste a lot of $$$.

Maybe she is right, I am not sure, I belive it quite depends on the parents how to train the kids.

But my point is , I want to establish a reading habit to my girl, I read books with her everyday from 5 mins, 10 mins, 15mins. I want to train her to have more patients and concenteration. My goal is she can read with me for 30-45mins.

I will visit this weekend and see how it is and maybe I will buy the "icture science" which is cheaper and less risk.. :)....

Have you visit GC ?? How is it?? Have you buy any educational material for your bb??? if not, I think it is worth it .and the WEE Sing is good, I have a look and listen in my fds hse which is an american version,very good. The taiwan and HK version seems better..... If I have not brought the english nursery song CDs to my girl, I will buy the wee sing.

st, 你都係到呀，Mayah, 你有無睇過呀，未上過去就唔好上，費事睇完心郁郁，講下笑詐，講真真係係幾鬼靚，我上次取貨時睇過，我都覺得唔錯，不過真係想大少少先，照計都唔會好遲嗟，記住唔好帶細路去，費事睇左唔買會扭計，我個仔聽日21個月大，但我老婆竟然話要送禮物比佢，我都kit一聲笑出來，咁o既藉口都諗到，唔怪得知人地話D女人要買野仲犀利個D白粉佬，一定搵到辦法。不過聽日上去再決定，到時再報告啦，哎，可能都係難逃一劫啦！ :cry:  :cry:  :cry:

hi Mayah,

15month的bb是未開始"閱讀科學"的思維的. 她們對科學是從5官吸收. 如要這些bb對科學敏感, 多帶她到野外(但小心蚊虫). 或玩麵粉, 拿東西, 嗅郊外的花草香, 去動物園認識動物等.

不想3-4年浪費家中的金錢和地方放未能用到的書.

I have bought one book from "King Heng Hong"  in Fo Tan.  They sell them separately.  No need to buy the whole lot.  My girl 2.5 years old like to read the pictures very much.  
Personally speaking, I will not buy the whole set for 60 books.  I will rather use that amount of money, buy different set of books to baby.

The price would be around ~ $60 something.  I can't remember.  There are with CDs and without CDs version.

You may call them to ask for the details:  26061919.  They said they have summer sale around August.  Then, the book will have discount.  

Yes, I agree that only buy the interesting ones would be OK.

Thank you so much for all your comments, actually, I have visit GC on last month, I bought the whole set of “picture readers” already, I also have DWE in my home since my baby two months old.  She loves book very much, everyday she need me to ready the book with her at least 3 times, each time around 15 mins, when I read the book with her, she will also point it together, because DWE set is not much story book to read (only 4 books, but many execrise books, so I bought set of “picture reader” to her.  But when I visit GC, Mrs Cheng remind me Chinese is also important for baby if they are study in HK.  I find ”大枓學” is very attractive.  But I also think to much books in the house, she can’t finish it within this few months, so my husband suggest me to buy later when my baby around 2 years old.  Now, I think I will postpone the planning for later.      
I am very agreeing with st.  The book is it suitable for baby, it’s depends on the parents how to read with the kids.

我今日買左啦， :cry:  :cry: 破產破產，今年無得去旅行喇，我同朋友一齊上去，佢都買左小科學同picture science, 我地打算撈亂睇，如果自己買晒就太重皮，我朋友同我share，就好好多，有須要先至再加啦！

個間king hang我打個去，個sale乜都唔識，問多兩句話自己上來睇啦，係電話唔講得咁多比我聽，喟，我問左三句就唔答我，唔係話....一o的都唔專業，我問佢有無全套又話無，問佢有邊幾本又唔知，佢係火炭，你估係旺角眯，唔問清楚搵你去，最後我話搵個專業o的來聽，佢竟然話公司無sale服務播，跟住我話叫佢老闆來聽，佢話老闆唔係香港，真係一套氣，咁無禮服都有，個位小姐真係要抄，後來我cup左佢電話，費事講咁多，都唔係做生意，問多兩句會咁惡，唔怪得知唔係幾出名，真係激親。

You are welcomed.  No need to say thank you.  I was also told by other BK mom that the books can be bought in  King Heng.  
I agree with Danniewo that they have no service provide on the books.  Actually, they are distributor, they sell a lot of different kinds of books, they will not introduce you what to buy and what is good for your baby.  It is actually a warehouse, you ask them and they will show you how to find the books.  So, don't expect that they will provide any services like Mrs. Cheng offers.

Hi all,

I don't think it's necessary to buy the whole set of 大科學兒童自然科學, because many of the issues are not very useful/ related to us.

As this set of books are the copyright from Japan.  Out of the 60 titles, you'll find that many of the topics are Japanese culture related, e.g. 相撲大力士, 麻糬打打樂, 我們來做咖哩飯, 雙層新幹線-麥克士號, etc...

Last month, I bought 6 大科學兒童自然科學 which is 50% off, i.e. $34 each only (but it dosen't include the CD and other parent guide) from 小樹苗. I've chosen topics about insect, polar bear, squirrel, fiddler crab, animals tail.

So, probably it's better to go to King Heng Hong or 小樹苗 (they will offer 20% off for the member) to choose some interesting topics rather than buying the whole set of books.
