Yes, we should keep this up.  Thanks Felicia and FungMm for your great efforts.

P1 application is indeed a headache, even more troublesome than getting a job myself.  I'm currently considering whether to apply for any DSS school (although I'll definitely try for some private schools) as I really would like my child to try his luck in the lucky draw... to pave the way for my two smaller kids.

I do need a lot of luck this year, hoping to achieve the following:
- getting my #1 in LS
- getting my #2 in KV
- getting my #3 delivered without too many surprises

All seem to be happening at the same time!!

My #1 in 3L said he's no HW for today, but will have 1 tomorrow.  Not sure if it's the same for different classes.

FungMm, Wow, it's really quite packed to go for 3 interviews in a day.  The SFA's interview may last for around an hour and you may need to hurry to go for the KTS'.  I wish you the best of luck and be able to get into your 1st choice.

Among the 4 you applied, I have only applied for SFA.  We shall go for the interview at 3pm.

有時真係覺得d小學响咁短時間in咁多小朋友,真係有印象而又必收的都唔會好多,其他的都幾睇彩數,所以只有盡人力後而聽天命吧。大家努力、加油!

Yes, I agree with Felicia that KV's teachers do make parents care about grades and about how neat and tidy their homework is done.  But I'd rather have him done it quickly and correctly rather than as neat and tidy as a copy book.

I recall at the K2's parents' day, the teacher told me that they would give better grades in the 2nd term report card so as to enable their pupils to get into good schools.  At that moment, I felt this was really funny and was about to laugh from the bottom of my heart thou' I kept it as a smile and only nodded my head gently.

KV's Christmas holidays will start on 22-Dec-08 and school will resume on 5-Jan-09.

Congrats to all those who receive good news!  And, add oil to those who're still waiting for more results.

My #2 had an interview at KV on Sat.  But unfortunately he refused to smile or talk or sing in front of the interviewers.  He even refused to call me at my request.  Ai... He was cheerful while we're waiting outside but once we entered the interview room, he suddenly reserved his big smile, and then was again cheerful and playing (with all other teachers watching him enjoying the fun) while we're queuing up for getting the candy.  Not sure if having an elder brother in KV would be of any help.  Otherwise, I'm sure KV won't accept my #2.  And, I'm not confident in other interviews either.

唔知點解，我#1前個禮拜帶道路安全份嘢返去都話太遲，終於冇交。

放榜日真係好緊張呀，因為我#1得嘅話，#2、#3都可以跟著上la。

Having an elder brother at KV does help.  My #2 got a 2nd chance for the interview in which his performance was ok.  He's now got admitted to K1 in the coming year.

Gusi, I share similar thoughts with FungMm and Felicia.  If your younger son is not a small b, I guess it'd be best for you to write a letter to the supervisor and the class teacher of your elder so as to ask for a place or at least bring you higher up in the waiting list.  I'm sure there'll be some parents declining the offer.

My #1 said Oral Quiz is answering questions like "What is this?", "What can you see?", etc (i.e. like those in the worksheet done on weekends).  And, they're having Oral Quiz (in group) every day and another teacher will come later (not sure if it's Fri) to give them Oral Quiz one by one.

One disclaimer =P: My #1 seldom talks about school life and I really don't know how reliable this info is.

乜原來可以自己加材料咩？我次次都以為凈係可以用老師派嘅材料，最多加ｄ顏色，所以每次我都係好簡單咁用摺紙或剪紙嘅方法來做。今次我都係用老師派嘅顏色紙摺咗幾朵花，但就唔知點用張蛋糕紙。alison，妳個方法都幾好噃，但我ｄ花依家一朵朵咁，唔係幾束得住，仲要再諗吓計。

Yes, most KV teachers teach both am and pm classes.  In addition, as with most kindergarten teachers, they have to take care of all the classroom decorations and preparation for classwork, homework, teaching materials and other activities.  It's really a lot of work.

My #1 also said they'll bring everything like a normal school day and they'll have snacks after returning to school from the field trip.  His class is going on Monday.
