Hello,

我囡囡今年剛升上小一, 可以比小小意見妳參考下,妳所講的三間小學都好多爭架,如果妳唔揀第一志願,根本好難會入到架,所以妳一定要決定妳小朋友入邊間,就填邊間啦!而其餘兩間,妳不如放棄吧!留番妳想的第三，四志願推上黎好過啦！！這是我當時選校的選擇，我囡囡是讀循道小一的，睇下大家有冇機會做同學仔啦！！

循小 has knock door vanancy and I know two people successfully knocked door in the past summer.   All "knock door" students are invited to an interview conducted by teachers.

To me, I prefer 循小 compared to other 2 schools, because it has a secondary.  In net 31, good secondary is very competitive.  Unless your kids are the top students in other two, you will probably compete back to Methodist Secondary anyway.  Also, Methodist Primary will have a new campus 2 years later and will become Full Day just like the others.

想問下,如果我在自行時選其他區(15分循小或同區其他學校都無望 ),大抽獎時甲乙部都選循小,自行唔選

佢會唔會影響叩門呢!好多嘢問,但是真的很擔憂

Hard to answer you question.  To be honest, all good schools will only have a few "knock door seats" as not many people will give up.  Therefore, most decisions are made by the Principal.

In my friend's case, she did not choose Methodist in stage 1 and only chose Methodist PM as second choice in section B.  Her first choice was St. Mary's.  She successfully knocked the door for Methodist.

On the other hands, many people chose the same school as first choice in all stages.  They did not get the "knock doors" seats.  

If you can afford it, please try some private schools as back up.  Then, you will not purely depend on this "lucky draw" system.  How many marks does you kid has?

唔好意思咁遲回覆妳, 循道應該算係一間傳統學校,因為校舍細,所以暫時都好難會活動教學,我估待2010年搬左新校舍,轉全日制至可以了,但聽過某些家長說當學校搬了後會有個大革新,應該會電腦化及教學會活動化!!
而我囡囡都幾鍾意返學架,佢話老師好好人,好錫佢喎!至於功課暫時都算小,好快做曬啦,可能是剛剛開學掛,遲些至知道多唔多呀!
但有樣妳要知道,就係學校無論黙書,測驗,考試全部都會計分,所以妳要睇緊些成績.

至於學校點揀,我一直都喜歡這間學校,所以我一,二志願都係選循道,因此我喜歡佢有英中直升,我只要keep到佢全級80名內,我就唔駛好似出面學校的小六家長咁辛苦同小朋友撲中學咁慘!!雖然現在都冇分英中,中中,但我都係相信些口碑好的中學!

我囡囡都有個同學第一志願選 st.mary 第二至算循道,但佢就冇咁好彩,第一,二都派唔到,叩門循小亦冇回音,派左去基道,所以都要睇下妳好唔好彩囉!

Just relax and the kid will do fine.

Most people applied more than 1 private schools and a lot of them have multiple offers.  Also, most parents will wait until the lucky draw result before they turn down the offers

(of couse unless they have offers from top schools like SPCC, DBS, DGS, etc.  In this case, they will probably turn down other offers earlier).  Therefore, there will be chnages in June and July.  Never give up.

If I were you, I will try to send letters to the school Principal for the schools you really want once for a while to update him/her about your kid development.  It may or may not work, but all it takes is time and some stamps.  Good luck
