skateboardp,
May I know why you like SPCC so much ?
My husband also said that if DGS and SPCC accepted my daughter, he may also choose SPCC even we are living in HK side. He said the feeling there ...
hi civic,
i have loved this school ever since i was a kid... my parents were catholic and they sent me to study at wah yan... but i had a best friend who went to SPCC... we grew up together and i looked up to her like she was my own sister... she used to tell me a lot about her school life, and i would get invited to her birthday parties and stuff... where i met many of her schoolmates... and then after a while i started to get invited to her schoolmates' birthday parties and outings as well... every treated me as my best friend's "little brother"... so i practically grew up with SPCC folks... i remember that everyone was super nice to me and i used to enjoy playing with them a lot... i used to think that having friends like that at school would have been ultra cool...
my best friend used to teach me a lot of the things that i could never have learned from my school... (all i did at wah yan was play soccer everyday) e.g. she was in the choir so taught me how to sing in harmony... i remember we used to sing the hymns in 崇拜手册together... when i witnessed her representing SPCC at the hk school music festival and winning the first place in fluet duet, i admired that so much... and i admired the school... my school never had anything like that... we only competed in inter-school sports like table tennis and soccer... but with music, which I liked so much, we never took it seriously... at that time, i really wish that i could study at SPCC like my best friend...
and then after primary school, i migrated to Australia with my parents and did high school there... when i reached undergrad, i decided to leave home to study and to join my best friend in Toronto, who had already graduated from medical school then and was practicing as a GP... she continued to treat me as her own brother and would invite me to the join her at the SPCC overseas alumni activities... there i met even more SPCC folks from different generations and they were all very nice ppl... and then i thought, if i am going to have kids, i would definitely want them to study at SPCC...
most important of all, i feel that SPCC does very well in blending the Lord's Word into its teaching... i could see that with most of the SPCC folks I have met in my life... being a Christian family, both myself and my wife really wish for our daughter to be able to get into a school like that, where the Word of God is always near...
so there you go... a long winded but very straight forward answer :) |
