我覺得這個復活節假期過得挺充實的，因為我在復活節假期的首個星期把所有的復活節假期功課全都完成了。然後，在4月13號的早上出發到河源，到14號的傍晚回家。15號的中午隨爸爸和學校到廣州的海聯路小學上學，感覺新鮮，最後17號回家。18號早上跟家長會到突破青年村進行歷奇訓練，感覺很好！你們的復活節假期又過得怎麼樣呢？

Hi KYKKY,

My boy is studying FS1(Primary1) @ Logos right now. I can't say Logos is perfect. However, it provides an excellent learning platform for my boy to develop his character and potential. To me, i like the curriculum and teaching methods of Logos. My boy enjoys his school life very much.

Of course, it is hard for mum to make choice. Talk to your friends who had kids at Logos or chat with us at Baby kingdom. Logos parents are willing to share their own views. I have to say "Logos is a place for parents who have similar values & belief on their kids' learning path". I attended nearly 3-4 briefing sessions before making my mind.

Hope you choose the "best" school for your girl.

Hi, Thomas23,

Congratulations for acquiring the Master degree. Your effort will not let you down.

Well, after that, hope you could spare the weekends to join the Parents Choir after the Summer vacation or even earlier. You know we have just paticipated in 「香港校長合唱團10周年音樂會 - 輕吟淺唱賞詩詞」on 26-4-2009 and spent 2D1N on 2-3 May for a performance 「穗港普及交流音樂會」at 星海音樂廳, Guangzhou. The performances are meaningful and wonderful. By joining the PC, we have many opportunities for exposures and go with our kids while our kids can join the student choirs, or the dancing groups, or play musical instrusments.

Anyway, the school provides many channels to draw the parents' involvement. If parents not interested in music, they may join the parent volunteers to be librarians, helpers and regulators. Or join in the parents fellowship or the PA Exco, or simply join the functions held by PC, PF or PA, or to participate in many sorts of talks, seminars and trips organized by the school. Getting closer to the parents groups definitely will be benefitial to ourselves as well as to our kids.

Hi sunnyfyma,

I don't think Logos ONLY focus on the personal profile. Actaully, we got the real experience that Principal Yau even didn't touch on my son's profile (only few pages without any special design) when we had 2nd interview with him.

My little advice is that make and enjoy your time with your kid and no p.1 pre-interview course is needed.  Principal Yau would like to see the real face of parents and kid. (i guess)

Thank you so much of yr advice. Actually, I do want my kids to be there is becoz it gives me a different impression from the other schools. If it focus on profile, I will re-consider if this is suitable to my kids or not.

I will apply for P1 2010-2011 for my girl in this coming summer. There's 1 thing we worry about is the transportation as we live in HK Island. Does anyone know if there's school bus route covering HK Island east (near tai hang)? thanks

我個仔讀緊DS3,我對真道嘅老師好有信心,真道係專科專教, 每位老師只係負責一個科目。唔似得其他學校嘅老師, 教英文時又要教普通話,(區內仍然有好多學校都係咁,我做嘢嗰間學校就係),有時我都會替佢地擔心,會唔會轉唔切 CHANNEL

我認識嘅家長同學都有住港島, 校車方面,應該唔係大問題,
不過有好多家長都為咗小朋友返學而搬入嚟TKO, 如果可以住近啲學校, 當然會方便啲,(無論你會揀邊間學校),小朋友無需花太多時間係交通方面,要知道小朋友由幼稚園轉到小學係好大轉變, 由返3個小時, 變為全日( 一般都7小時至8小時), 如果仲要花太長時喺交通上,小朋友會好辛苦。

Thanks for your info.  I just came back from the briefing at logos.  IT finished at 11pm.  The principal is a very confident man and straight forward person.  He told me there're many bus routes going to/from HK island.  He even quoted an example to us that children in Siuchuen walked 2 hours for school, what he meant was we shouldn't overly protect our children, if children love the school and study, they would overcome the problem.

Have you been informed by the school that are they going to get IB diploma certified?

They told us that most teachers have acquired master or doctoral degree.  There was a gentleman, Dr. Pang, who is very experienced in education just joins their team.  Do you feel that teachers are passionate and well experienced in teaching their professional subjects?  Can you share with me, in your opinions, what are the factors that make you like this school?  And have you ever found out if it is a norm that most students can achieve the same or better academic results (in terms of language proficiency, reading ability, sports) compared to the ordinary schools in HK?  To me, it's really amazed to hear that without huge homework loads, they are able to help students to achieve 1 year in advance academically.

sorry for many queries.  I'm really interested in understanding more of this school.

For transportation, I'm thinking that I may drive her to school myself. Are the traffic okay in front of the school that dropping off students are not chaotic.

The principal is a very confident man and straight forward person.
校長真是一個好愛學校嘅人，佢對教育嘅熱誠係無可至疑的。我個人好欣賞校長做嘢夠“FIRM”夠「硬」，或者其他家長會唔認同我嘅講法。

我亦從來無擔心／質疑老師們嘅資歷，在我遇過的每一位老師都好有愛心，對教育有熱誠，我記得亞仔升上ＤＳ１嘅時候，開學初期有少少擔心，因為亞仔由ＦＳ升上ＤＳ，會有好多轉變，而他的班主任是一位新來的老師，但後來與班主任傾談過後，疑慮沒有了，因她每日都會用好多時間與學生溝通了解，什至連小息時都會「靜雞雞」去睇吓佢哋做ＭＵＤ嘢。

what are the factors that make you like this school?
我喜歡真道每一科由一／兩位老師教哂全級，咁樣可避免有家長會話：你就好啦，亞Ａ老師教你個仔嗰班，我個仔就慘，係Ｂ老師教，真道全部一視同仁。我自己從來無將亞仔同其他學校嘅小朋友去比較成績究竟如何，我覺得無必要。
當然每個學生嘅學生學習能力都會有唔同，呢啲係神比每個孩子唔同嘅恩賜。
當初，我為亞仔揀學校，其實好「是但」，我無好似你哋咁做咁多「資料搜集」，我只係喺一次幼稚園畢業典禮上，聽過丘校長演講，佢有介紹過將會有間新嘅學校，當時自己心想：「我就係要呢種學校」，之後無再去搵有關呢間學校嘅資料。
我喜歡真道，因為我自己懶，因為我怕，我唔想每日都要同亞仔去鬥法，眼見好多朋友（佢哋啲小朋友讀其他學校）每逢測驗、考試就要同佢哋一齊閉關，我唔想係咁。加上我個人認為讀書係唔應該迫嘅，佢鍾意就自然會去做，父母比你一個良好嘅學習環境，你自己唔珍惜，咪等佢大個嚟後悔law；我記得幼稚園老師同我講，話我個仔讀傳統學校都可以，叫我唔一定要幫佢報真道，我答：我怕我個仔由得變成唔得（因為好多小學都會谷得好勁），唔得嘅就變成更加唔得！
亞仔喺真道已經五年，佢開心時我又開心，我是感恩的，因為亞仔係真道真係學到自學、自理、自省，雖然佢嘅成績只係一般，但他愛返學，好似上星期佢哋嘅聯課活動開始去學游水，之前他在家中想盡辦法要逃避，但上完堂回家竟然告訴我好開心，好好玩，仲好期待下一節課來臨呢！
要講我哋一家點解喜歡真道，講三日都講唔哂，講住咁多先，下次再分享。

Hi 軒mother,

真的, 要講我點解揀真道, 真係有排講......., 不過係憑我地係真道的所見所聞, 而不是自吹自擂.

當然, 沒有一間學校是完美的, 重點是我們家長/學生/教職員願意一起為學校作出努力, 不斷求進.

真道每年會舉辦幾次公開課, 課後負責老師、Dr. Luk及鄭sir都會與家長一起評課, 互相交流, 真道家長可以參加各年級的觀課活動, 當你參加完觀課, 你自然會對『孩子的學習』和『學校的教學』認識加深, 雖然我係working parent, 但小兒讀小一時, 我在繁忙的工作下, 也抽時間參加小一至小五, 共十節的觀課活動, 自己第一手去了解, 總比別人分享的來得更全面.

係呀! 咪見校長好似好有威嚴, 其實, 佢係一個好有heart的校長和能幹的領導者, 不過, 佢同家長的關係很好的, 沒有架子的, 我呢個蟻民上次參加完在外面的家長活動, 當時我們數十人和校長吃完午飯, 校長正要回學校, 問有沒有家長需要返調景嶺, 我有幸與其他幾位家長坐校長的七人座駕, 睇怕不是間間學校有這樣的校長, 不過, 平心而論, 校長手車實在係好好好穏陣, 嘻嘻! 係好漫law………..

好似上星期六甘, 我帶仔仔返學校參加呢緊6月27日『恩語獻春風2009』的準備活動, 當時閒來見到你們家長合唱團係禮堂在校長(指揮)及師母(詩琴)的領導下練緊歌仔同拍攝緊, qq_dad不停地在旁打點一切, 作為在禮堂旁觀者的我, 看見軒mother你係到走來走去, 原來當時qq_mum & qq_cute等四人被困在電梯內, 眼看女俠-軒mother飛奔趕往協助, 汗流浹背, 及後又見到校長正想趕往拿後備匙開啟電梯門之際, 聽到『天使la』在禮堂上層喊問:校長有乜野可以幫到手呀? 但校長仍堅持親自去營救, 比我feel到家長和學校的關係, 好似一家人甘.

家長的事(qq_mum等人困在電梯內)>學校的事 ;

學校的事>家長的事(軒mother等家長趕往協助) ;

家長的事(qq_mum等人困在電梯內)>校長的事(校長跑去取後備匙)

不過最搞笑的事係…..後來qq_mum同我講, 佢當時正準備乘搭電梯同qq_cute去搵返個籃球, 當佢地正想入電梯之際, 校長正從電梯內步出來, 當電梯關門不久便出事, 哈哈哈! 校長點可以有事, 有事都等我地班家長頂左佢la, qq_mum你地做得好, 我為你鼓掌!

各位真道家長,

如果可以的話, 請盡量抽空與子女出席呢緊6月27日(六)舉行的『恩語獻春風2009』之敬師日活動, 讓我們做家長的身體力行, 提醒孩子們要懂得感恩, 更希望我們真誠的謝意可以轉化成力量, 全力支持校長及老師們, 繼續為同學、為學校作出無私的奉獻。
