How old is your daughter ? I mean which month is she born in? I planned to let him attend swimming class but the centre said they will only accept until he is 3. Does your daughter dare to dip her head into the water ?

GIPW, you check Standford lah, it accepts children even at 2 years old........I remember below 3 is parent and child class, but above 3 is child only. I did not join after checking as I want to go into the water with my child for safety reason instead of watching her from the 看台..... Or, you can have private coach for your son and girl together, the cost is around $380 per hour for 2, $280 for 1 (price per the private coach in my clubhouse). I originally plan to have private coach to teach my girl swimming this summer, but cannot find a friend to share the cost, so, postpone it to next year lah as summer is going to over. One point to add, if Standford, you can choose the swimming pool in the Korean school in Lei King Wan, which will have warm water in winter, so, you can join throughout the year.

I live in TKO Metro Town. If take Mrs. She bus, when is the pickup time? How long it takes to KG or return KG?

I am worrying the travelling time is too long....

Yes, I want to go into the water with my girl, if not, stand by the side of the swimming pool. I canot accept the idea that I stay in 看台 watch far away when my girl is still so small. But most of my friends think my thought is weird, as they prefer their children to go into water by themselves to train their independence. Thus, it is highly likely that I will go private next year.

My girl is born in Jan. She dare to dip her head into the water ga. However, I may stop joining the course later as I think she has no improvement. She only wants to play with the coach and does not pay attention to what the coach said. May search for another swimming class later.

Panala, I did go swimming (I think I should say having bath in a big swimming pool) with my girl, she like having fun in the water but refuse even to dip her month into water......she dislike it even I make her head wet.......so, dipping her head into water is now a mission impossible for me. So, your girl is great already!!!

Don't worry , My two sons take Mrs.She bus, pick up point is Ocean Shores, pick up time is 12:30 , So I think that your pick up time is around 12: 40, becuase the next station is Metro Town, the full trip is around 40 minutes.

I am planning to send my son for private swimming class as well... but maybe after he turns to 3 (he was born on Dec), at least he can understand more on the instructions.

I found a swimming coach around $300/class (for 2 kids). Do you think the fee is reasonable?

$300 for 2 kids (1 hour)......much cheaper than the private coach in the clubhouse where I am living. Private coach has the flexibility of changing time easily, so, I prefer this arrangement more too. But the quality of private coach can vary, I think it is better to have one referred by friends if possible.

One of my collegues told me how she helped her son to overcome the fear to dip his head into water. Before she let him attend swimming class, she used the shower head at home every day to shoot at her son's face while having shower. She told me her son felt scared at the beginning and graudually got used to it....and like it. Then the 1st time her son put his head into water, he was not scared at all. You gays can try this method.....I have tried once, my girl kept on shouting No No, and I stopped.

前日, 幼兒園個邊有3單確診H1N1, 唔知大家知唔知, 不過今日的衛生防護網頁已經update了, 所以沒有記錄.

最令我驚訝是...當我打電話問幼稚園個邊...竟然幼稚園個邊唔知有這回事...幾分鐘...可能向幼兒園個邊確定後才回覆我..
今日我見班老師開始帶口罩.

什麼..怎樣溝通的學校?

I am so scare ..than you. Ha Ha! How can I learn more?....if this school is not so update-to-day to the news.
What we can do...do maximum protection...wearing masks when going to and picking up ...take showers and wash hands immediately after school.

Tell them..don't share food with classmates, and ask them daily if any classmates cough in class.

The most terrible stuff is ...the squeezing toilet they share...唉!

Parents, no worry....I just called the Nursery session, they told me it is not Swine Flu (豬流感), just 流感. They have 3 students infected 流感, so, need to report to the Health Dept as required. The lady picked up the phone told me it was stated as 流感 in the Health Dept's website this Monday, not 豬流感. The lady also told me the record has been deleted from Health Dept now.

This is KCS mah.....I have this feeling in Prenursery already........no or limited communication between Prenursery and KG administratively. Just like 2 independent legal entities exist in a same campus : ) Even the teachers told me they are really very independent.

I've even rang to the Health dept to ask for how to count for the statistics..
They said..the list will mix with those normal flu and swine flu records..
Within 1 class, if there are over 3 students absent from flu (no matter what kind), school needs to report to them ...so we don't know if in-between, there's really swine flu or normal flu.
For example, in 1 class, 1 is swine and 2 are normal flu.
The best is to get the information from school...
