I am very appreciated of your opinion on this topic!
My daughter luckily gets an offer from SH in PM Class, just we live in Sham Tseng, so I have many considerations!
Firstly, many parents said that it is a 1 dragon school , does it means all the students can go to their private primary school ? As my daughter will have 20 points for applying P1 , can she gets into their primary school (AM) easily?

Secondly, can we still apply "大抽獎" or can i hand in my first priority to another primary school(noy SH) if the private primary accepted my daughter?

the last question is do you have any comments of SHCSPS ? I heard a teacher from Cannosian said it is not a good primary as teachers just asked you to finish tones of exercise but wont marking for you!

So.... I am very struggling about that~~~
but i really feel shocked for SHCK accepted my daughter as my daughter just have an offer from LH (Tsing YI)

Can you give any suggestion to me?

我都想分享吓,我大女同細女都係年尾出世,0510同0711. 大女讀緊LK(k2),細女就好幸運啱啱收咗! 我係家庭主婦,全職湊b,唔知係咪有分加!另外佢兩個都係天主教徒,因為爸爸一家都係,所以又加咗分!細妹嗰日表現幾好,k 大致上都做晒!我諗加加埋埋佢都表演ok,所以好好彩收咗,我哋真係真係好開心!另外,我朋友大女兩年前都係waitlist,不過佢寫咗信俾學校顯示佢嘅誠意,最尾都收咗!所以大家唔好放棄,如果真係想讀,show 你嘅誠意俾學校睇!祝大家都入到心儀學校!!!

Hi SCV,

First congratulations for the acceptance!

Concerning primary schools, basically you need to know there are two sections, AM which is private and PM which is gov't aided. The points applied only for the gov't aided section so it is not relevant for admission to AM primary. I do think 20 points should be enough for the gov't aided section if you intend to apply for SHCS.

Basically in the past, SHCK students should be guaranteed for SHCSPS (am). You can always try the first round to any schools based on points. Whether you can enter the lottery, it varies year by year and totally decided by SHCSPS. In the past it was not allowed but I remember last year they made an exception.

Concerning the primary school, are you referring to SHCSPS or SHCS?

Hi BingB,

It's been a while since we last chat. I can see it from their faces it was a very difficult decision for the kindergarten not to accept more kids with elder siblings currently studying in SHCK. However, they do wanna be fair for other kids as well so we need to be considerate to them too. It wasn't easy for them.

I think I will apply few more kindergartens next year just in case. 2008 has 10% higher birth rate comparing to 2007 so we need to be prepared. Is you younger one also born in 2008?

I just worried about that we cant join the Discretionary Places Admission (Points system) or Central Allocation (Geographically) if SHCSPS offered my daughter a place in the future as I want my daughter can go to "co -edu" primary school !
On the other hand, SHCSPS is also a good choice for us !However, time for traveling is a problem !
Hey, would you mind to tell me where do you live in Tsing YI ? As the traveling time from Sham Tseng to SC is nearly 1 hour, I think that it is too hard for the little girl !

SHCSPS 係指聖心小學私立部上午校,即私校,一個月要交$2,200學費.
SHCS 係指聖心小學下午校,即津校,唔駛比錢.

我大女都係SHCK畢業,現讀SHCSPS小一. SHCK真係一間好好,好有愛心的幼稚園,校長/副校長都非常之關心幼兒,樣樣事情都親力親為,很多老師下午班放學後仍要為幼兒做很多工作/開會,晚晚都很夜才收工. 現我女讀小一, 都讀得非常之開心,SHCSPS亦是一間很好的學校,校長及老師也很好. 雖然只是返半日學,但反而更好,因可以有多些時下午休息/做功課/上課外活動.

星期6 check左website但搵唔到亞女個名…
要等今日封信至知是否有在waitlist或是已被rejected....
其實都有點失望…

oh sheffield, I am disappointed too! I thought your daughter will be offered. So you will take PC's offer or will try to pursue SHCK?

thanks for your sympathy!
perhaps i didn't do well enough...
don't know yet, i will see after i get the letter. if my girl is rejected, i would go with pc. if she's on the waiting list, i would try to do some extra...
i would like to ask for your opinion if you don't mind... will pm you...
